Wheel / Pedal Bindings Not Saving

I have my Clubsport v1 pedals and CSW v1 wheel as 2 separate USB devices. FH4 sees both devices, and I’m able to set them in the controls menu, but as soon as I exit the menu, they unbind.

I’m unable to play the game due to this (since i have no gas, brake, clutch, etc.). I paid over $100 after taxes for the Ultimate Edition, and I’d like to play what I paid for.

I have ZERO problems in Forza 7 with this configuration.

Okay, so I’m not the only one.

This is happening with my stand-alone bodner box G-27 shifter. This was not an issue in the demo…

Same here. Using a CSL Elite Wheel, Clubsport Pedals over separate USB and a Thrustmaster TH8 shifter.

In the Main Menu, the pedals are acting as if the axis is inverted (100% when no input is given) and overriding any control you try to set (for example, having to depress accelerator pedal and brake pedal to assign the clutch). This issue is only on the main menu, not once in game.

However, the real kicker is when you get in game, rebind your controls in the settings and think they’re are binding correctly and it’s game time. You save and back out of the settings menu and then realise the setting for Combined Steering is reverted, and Accelerator, Brake and Clutch Axis become unbound, leaving you with your Senna slowly rolling to a stop and the steering inverted, sad times.

More than a little disappointed considering this was working in the Demo version of the game flawlessly and was one of the reasons that I was confident enough to pre-order the ultimate edition after Horizon 3’s single controller limitation.

Hope this is an easy one and the update can be sent out quickly guys, was really looking forward to this one.

Just stopping in to say I have the same issue as well.

T300 wheel + Fanatec CS3 pedals. Setup worked perfectly in the demo. But now we have the full game the mappings for the pedals unbind as soon as you leave the settings menu as others have described.

I’ve gone back to the demo to confirm that everything is still working (which it is). So whatever has been changed between the demo build and the full release, please change it back!

Hi, also replying to say I have this same issue.

Fanatec CSL Elite wheel +Thrustmaster T3PA Pro w/ Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter. I haven’t tried the demo on PC so I cannot confirm it worked for me.
I am going to download the demo rn to test it out.

Exact same thing is happening to me! My setup: Thrustmaster tx wheel, fanatec v3 pedals and a th8 rs shifter.

Why is creating a custom profile for controls still a frickin’ NIGHTMARE?

I cannot get telemetry to work right. I bind it to a button on my wheel; it’ll open telemetry but literally no button on the wheel will close it now. Try creating a custom profile; great way to raise your blood pressure.

fixed if you use the same profile as FH4 demo !

How do you do that? I got the demo explicitly to verify that you could use multiple controllers, but I uninstalled it before getting the full game.

Are you talking about copying a file, or should the profile I made with the demo be visible in the full game?

I have the same issue! Is there any news on this? I didn’t get the demo, and it seems stupid to download the demo, make a profile and then copy it over to my full game.

Completely agree… I overcame the conflicts for the startup crash to then find I can’t bind my G27 over… Well to be correct, I can bind it just fine but FH4 doesn’t understand the concept of saving. I also didn’t worry about the demo previously and play Motorsport 7 just fine so I won’t be downloading it (30gb) for the sake of getting a kb or two of text.

Near 0 support or update for a pre-release isn’t a particularly ‘great’ experience.

I’m having the same problem with a T500RS wheel and Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals.

Yes I got it 100% working with my Fanatec CSL Elite (PS4 version) wheel, CSL pedals and Thrustmaster TH8A (used as analog handbrake).

I used the ‘temporarily fix’ suggested via this thread → https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst132990_-Temporarily-Fix--Wheel-Pedals-not-saving.aspx
But then the FFB did not work and the Fanatec wheel itself was not recognized anymore. Maybe/probably because I completely swapped files in stead of only the wheel settings via notepad?

Then I uninstalled the game completely from my PC and reinstalled it. 20 minutes later I could play again. First benchmark and then back in the controller config. The Fanatec wheel was recognized again but what surprised me the most was the presence of all my previous key bindings in <config 1> tab. Let’s give it a try: Everything works and also with FFB.

Did they launch a quick fix in between or is this just luck I’m experiencing? Anyhow I can enjoy FH4 to it’s full glory. It is FUN!!!

Thanks. This fix has worked for me.

Which part? What they suggest in that other thread, or re-installing the game?

Linking the thread would be cool Kolysion so people know what to do

I’m having this issue too. I have a Thrustmaster TX and a Fanatec Clubsport shifter. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.
