I play FM since his release but since the 14/11/23, i’ve got problems with my Fanatec CSL DD 8nm.
When i turn, i feel constant and unrealistic vibrations in the wheel when i turn hard.
In straight lines, if i let the wheel go, it turns alone fast left and right.
I didn’t change anything in the settings of my wheel and the problem occurs with all cars.
Others players told me they have the same problem since 14/11/23, but only on Xbox séries X.
Sorry for my english (im french), hope you will regulate this problem because my feeling with the wheel was pretty good before the 14/11/23.
same problem, wheel oscillation mid corner and exit since the update
Same problem since the update 2.0 (CSL DD 8Nm on Xbox)
I updated the firmware of the wheel yesterday but the issue is still here. I didn’t change the in-game settings of the wheel (vibration scale, road feel scale…). I tried to change them when the issue appaers : if I decrease some parameters, I don’t get any feeling. If I increase them, the bouncing is worse.
This problem is easy to solve : downgrade the wheel parameters to the pre-update version
Might have the same issue on a CSW2.5 on XSX. I thought it was the new Yas Marina track, but maybe it’s everywhere…
a temporary solution is to set the vibration scale to zero, it significantly reduces the effect of shaking the steering wheel when turning
Yea myself and 2 others in CQR are experiencing this since latest update. Turning vibration scale down does help but lose some detail.
What exactly are you referring to here??
I mean this issue wasn’t there before the update.
Something was change in the game’s coding and the solution is to use the previous one (for the communication between Forza and Fanatec CSL only)
Gotchya!
New firmware came out for base yesterday, unfortunately oscillation is still there.
Même problème avec GT DD pro 8nm sur Xbox série X
CSL DD 8nm here. Been having this issue since launch. It seems to overcorrect the small oscillations from driving fast in a straight line, causing the oscillations to resonate and get stronger if you let go of the wheel.
I keep forgetting that the wheel is still active for a few seconds while the game fades to black when you quit a race or end practice early, and the oscillation builds up and becomes violent enough after a second that my rig wobbles slightly. This seemed to be fixed or toned down a little after update 1, but it came back again after update 2.
I think this bug report is describing a different problem.
This bug seems to cause fluctuating FFB during cornering in particular.
What you’ve described is normal behavior in my experience for most games, and relates to the level of damping you have in the game and wheel.
In regard to your issue, either keep holding the wheel (as many people who use very low damping will do), or add some damping to the wheel in game or in the wheel settings. But while damping will stop the ‘hands-off’ oscillations, you’ll be losing responsiveness and finer details in the FFB.
I’ve checked last Fanatec updates . Problem is already there… It doesn t appears in WRC … Please update Forza !
Seems this issue was forgotten in today’s update…
Still unplayable
Problem is still there for me too …
@Here
Can you try increasing the damping in Forza settings and in the Fanatec settings. Does this mitigate the oscillation you’re getting.
If possible can you try updating the natural damper setting and the centering spring if you have those available.
If these settings don’t help mitigate your issue can you post your current wheel settings so we can investigate this more.
Hi,
Increase damping => better feeling but huge oscillations. Especially in the corners when I try to stay with the same wheel angle.
Natural damper and centering spring=> doesn’t affect the issue (by decreasing or increasing these parameters)
I think we all tried to change the in-game settings one by one and nobody was able to find something similar as what it was previously.
If possible, try to play with a Fanatec DD on Xbox, any car ans any track. Then try the same with the pre-update game, as it was on october. Don’t change any in-game wheel parameters, it was perfect like this.
As we said, these issue come with the first game update in november. That means something changed at this moment.
I had the same issue. I’ve recently been using a Fanatec CSL DD and was searching the forum for recommended configurations because I noticed a strange (and annoying) vibration when cornering and came across this discussion.
I don’t know how the CSL DD behaved at the launch of the game (I changed steering wheel about a month ago) but indeed this vibration is present and makes driving feel unnatural.
