Just from a bit of testing, but it looks to me as if the AI in this career event are slightly more competent than if you set up the same race at Brands Hatch in free play.
At max difficulty, my career mode AI is doing best laps of 1.26.4 (my PI is 820). By comparison, the best lap times in a couple of attempts in free play with the same settings were 1.27.8. Possibly track conditions were a bit different but my own times were roughly consistent. There were also more cars driving off track in the free play event.
In the Builders cup,taking my Volvo 850R,down grading it from D to E class,with max ballast and a RWD conversion,and working my way up through the upper classes with it. 
Also Rulebook Racers,using the BMW M1 Procar.Good fun.
I’ve used the 35C for E and D. Quite fun - so small it can sneak into gaps between the large muscle cars that are mainly used by the AI!
Going to change for C and B but haven’t decided what to use yet.

None, even watching AI drive for me was painful.
Rulebook Racers has great intro and theme, and I’m so looking forward to play it… but I refuse to do it until the Nissan Silvia Super Silhouette becomes eligible for this event. Otherwise I might as well ask for refund for Car Pass 
P.S. It’s already the second time when I’m unable to use a vehicle from Car Pass in career mode. It happened earlier with the 2020 Audi TT RS during the Ringer Tour too.

Wouldn’t it be good if they could let us vote on cups we would like to see again, as especially that they’re so against keeping these on permanent.

I like the Capri but it’s hard to win a race. I’m playing on difficulty setting 7. I manage it though, but it needs just about every upgrade + custom tuning.

Why do the single player events disappear?
Why not retain them or put them on a big rotation or calendar? They put all that effort in creating video content, advertising them etc and then they are gone within the month.
