My wife has started playing FH5 on XBox and we’re both wondering if there’s an easier way to get the “Dust In the Lens” achievement. (photograph gran telescopio and a dust storm) Waiting around for a dust storm since yesterday and still haven’t seen one (not while she was on anyway). Is there a reliable event lab that can help? She tried a couple but they didn’t work.
Of course now that I’ve posted the question, I’m guessing a dust storm will appear now.
Try the Super 7 blueprints. I think I used one right back at the launch, along with the wet season cactus and butterfly ones. Can’t remember their names but probably search for the achievement title.
not sure if this is possible or if it’ll work even if it is but they added un a custom photo mode thing where you can set the weather
now, I don’t know if dust storm is in there anywhere, it might not be, but those custom changes have worked recently for playlist items
stories - one or two have dust storms in but cannot remember locations
number of times I post a question somewhere and within seconds find the answer . . . did it a few minutes ago on TrueAchievements
Super 7 has a known issue re: dust storm not being selectable so that won’t work. Event Labs also don’t work (see True Achievements). Finally, dust storm is not selectable in Photo Mode. Having read into it for myself it seems it may only occur between 10 to the hour and the hour and/or twenty past the hour and half past. I’m trying this myself next!
So just to follow up on this, I managed to end up in the middle of a dust storm after finishing a chapter of one of the stories whilst driving from Guanajuato round the back of the mountain and into the desert region. Quick fast travel to the telescope, took the photo and triggered the achievement.

Hi I am having a really hard time getting the dust storm achievement at the telescope can someone tell me the quickest way? I have been trying for ages and I have drive round the desert region for a whole day nothing is there I have sat and waited hours for the storm near the telescope too I just really want to get the achievement now. Was wondering if it tells you on the car radio if there’s a storm approaching has anyone had this?
Nothing on the radio as far as I know but then again, I don’t use the radio. See some of the suggestions above. It’s possible there’s an event lab or something created that helps.
Just take random photos at random places and i might work, i got a alot of achivments on the wrong places and in the wrong cars. Fpr example i got the take a pic of senna in horizon festival in like the baja aera with not even close to a senna.
