What penalty time should S tier rating be?

,

So my question is two fold.

Over the course of 20 races, how much penalty time should be the threshold of S and A given:

  1. The current flawed penalty system,

And,

  1. A perfect or near perfect penalty system we will one day have.

For the current system i think 10 seconds over 20 races is good (.5s/race.)

This would make it so that when you do get an unjust penalty it won’t screw you completely and have you going up against E and D drivers for ten or more races.

Once we have an ideal penalty system i think it should drop down to 5-6 s per 20 races. It’s not like a single racing incident will drop an F1 driver down to a formula mazepin league.

Also i think a summary of the last 20 races would be helpful to know where your “race license “ currently stands.

The penalties have to be distributed like this. If I go off track and, for example, gain 0.250 tenths, do I have to get that as a penalty time? How often does it happen that you even lose time and yet I still get 1 second in some places? I can already see it coming, t10 will try to give us a functioning penalty system next year too.

It would have to be specifically for penalties during a race. It’s easy to go past the limit and grab a penalty in qualifying or even practice, but that doesn’t make an unsafe driver.

I agree completely.

I think with future updates when the penalty system becomes better they should slowly decrease the threshold.
