I have been playing this game since Dec of last year and really enjoy it. I race with my club and also do alot of online racing. Just a few minutes ago I see there is a new Forzathon. I figure I have a few minutes, so I enter a race with a s1 class extreme toy. Go to a few different races and am literally crushed. I can’t keep up at all. I usually race on the 2nd to highest setting and have completed 60% of the game. I put difficulty to new racer and can’t get better than 2nd place. Also since i am venting why is it that AI cars now jump in front of you, brake check you to slow you down, so their AI buddies can scream away from the pack?
I believe I have entered the Matrix and AI in Forza has developed and soon will take over the game.
Make sure your car is tuned well (not implying that it’s not just a suggestion). Use the perk that lets you start first and you should be fine. Also pushing them off into trees helps😎
He finished second on new racer settings. If you need perks and tuning to beat an AI setting called new racer then there is something seriously wrong with the AI.
I believe the forzathon events are more difficult. They are more difficult because they have special awards and they should be a challenge. Either keep working to improve or give up not everything in life is easy.
It is strange when a RWD drivitar car can melt your AWD car off the line in rainy conditions on a muddy road especially when you know you’ve way more horse power than the drivitar car.
The game is engineered to be difficult not enjoyable and to prevent you from achieving goals too easyily. That’s just the way the meritocracy of this game is set up. What can I say, it’s the Forza way. To overcome, you need to develop skills to outgun those crafty little nefarious drivatars.
Engineering the game to be difficult is ok when it’s done realistically and fairly however the drivitar cars cheat a lot and it’s a lot worse in FH3 than it has been in previous Horizon games. They miss checkpoints without penalty, don’t have to slow down for tight corners, they can go through the water splash without affecting their speed. These cheats and many more can make it a frustrating experience at times playing fh3. Obviously if you play on low difficulty you won’t notice this as much.
I’m having the same issues. Within the last couple of updates, the “new racer” setting has become almost as hard as “unbeatable”. It seems like the difficulty is the same no matter which skill level I choose.
Some say that the cars are emulating excessively effective car tunes, some say the frontrunners disregard your difficulty setting. Either way, there’s a blatant inconsistency in the drivatar difficulty across the pack that I’m amazed the devs never caught onto.
There is actually a simple way to beat drivatars at their game.
Make a rally build on a car that isn’t suited for off roading (Ex. Donkervoort, Ford GT 2017, etc.). Next, blueprint exhibitions or championship events with a category or car selections that are weak against off road terrain. Then, pick cross country or scramble events of your choice. Tip: don’t pick events that cross or go around the shipwreck area as drivatars don’t get affected from hydroplaning.
Since you’d be racing with a rally tune on an unsuitable car, the drivatars driving the cars identical to yours will struggle with the terrain and fall back a little bit. In basic terms, if I were in a cross country race with Extreme Track Toy cars, and I bought out a BAC Mono with a rally tune (Rally tires, AWD, suspension), it will kinda handle the terrain compared to the drivatars struggling in their track cars with no rally parts whatsoever.
I know this method will kinda ruin a race cars sense in asphalt, but it is a cheap way of winning races with them. This is just my own method of winning with cars in a category that are unbeatable on tarmac.
You shouldn’t have to go to those kinds of extremes to level the playing field with AI. I haven’t had that many problems with AI except for rubberbanding. When I am with them, they aren’t that hard to pass.
I have spoken with a few people about this online and some have theroized that the Drivitar AI will emulate your club members/friends list. My club members are all very high and fast drivers, and the friends list I have is the same. This is the most plausible answer I have had so far with the exception of Turn 10 dropping the ball on the Rubber Band effect during updates.
If that was the case then the AI cars would be more consistent over the course of the field. I’ve seen that it’s not always the fastest real life drivatars that are the ones close to me.
I hate the fact that the drivatars are not bound by the same rules as player-controlled vehicles. The icy roads on Blizzard Mountain really exaggerate the fact that they don’t follow the normal physics. And the fact that they can cut corners and miss checkpoints without penalty irks me something fierce.
There’s obviously situations where you can get the better of Drivitars. For instance most drivatars can’t do the big jumps correctly especially the big jumps in blizzard mountain and often crash. Also in races around Byron Bay town you can force them to crash at the narrow bridge near the beach.
However just because there is a couple of situations where you get the better of them doesn’t mean to say they don’t cheat elsewhere.
