If you run wide on a turn in a road race and hit the wall, is that counted as a collision? Or are collisions only car-to-car? And is it any collision, no matter how mild? If an AI driver behind you nibbles away at your back bumper a half-dozen times or so during a start, do you get charged for a half-dozen collisions?
Why does this matter to me? I’m kind of a freak about clean racing and I like to keep my average collisions per race down in very low single digits. Like two or three. Although I’ve concluded from several years of racing in FH4 that it’s nearly impossible to run a clean three-lapper. Somebody’s always trying to tag you.
Curious to know this as well. I know I was at 2 colisions per race till I started playing online. Last I checked I was at 6 per race mostly because of rammers.
I think if the collision would cause you to lose your point streak then that counts. But I guess we’d need to test a Drift tap and see if that counts as a collision. If it does, it’s probably touching anything like a trading paint.
The only statistic we seem to have on this is ‘average collisions’ over our whole game. If we could know it about a particular race we could draw some conclusions about what constitutes a collision.
I wouldn’t put much stock into those stats anyway, I know in fh4 they were completely buggered. Most collisions in a game for me was 126, which is pretty red I cloud because I don’t wreck people and don’t remember ever having a race that bad. Since fh5 has many of the same bugs, I’m expecting the same buggered stats here as well. If they are not buggered then just about any contact with anything must count.
