Well Done Playground!

Massive hats off to Playground games for the new Fortune Island which is a ton of fun and gives us the sort of treacherous road conditions that ive wanted in a forza game for decades!!
But looking further into it the update gives us much more than the new dlc. One big gripe I had with the game was the terribly laggy jerky steam train that haunts the map…it was awful, and ruined the experience of seeing it and racing against it. Well im very happy to say its finally been fixed!! Its as smooth as butter now and im much more into the game because of it.
Infact is it just me or does the game look sharper and run a lot smoother in general since the update? Anyway its an all round amazing driving game…
WELL DONE AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS to Playground Games!!!

You wanted treacherous road conditions for decades? Have you never heard of storm island? Or blizzard mountain? And your biggest gripe was the train? Seriously? I refuse to believe that a real player wrote this “review”.

I fully agree.
With the new update all I have gotten was more lag, plenty of game crashing and extra cut scenes from an expansion I will not purchase with the game in it’s current state.
Mods can censor this or not, but by doing so you only hurt the player base by ignoring issues.

My avatar has all the freshest steps, got the crispiest of crisp clothing, all without a single glitch.
What the game is seriously lacking in is a decent driving experience.

As a paying customer, VIP status,I’m extremely unhappy with tje purchase I made and the censorship showed when I try and address my concerns about the game I spent money on.

I like Fortune Island, I wasnt interested in paying separate for Storm Island but since this came with the Ultimate i’m playing it. Its something new which is always good and its SOLO for the most part. It will keep my stress down while they figure out how to fix team adventure

Yeah blizzard mountain was good but not cliff edge dangerous. Storm island was good but just bad weather…again not cliff edge stuff.
The train is the showpiece for me and its a discrace performance wise. Some are bothered with it…some arnt…bit like the audio moans.

The only thing missing is the fact the game has now become a crash factory it CTD every time i play for a half hour did not do that before FI.

with all the issues with this game and the items that have been removed (online lobbies, rivals and competitive racing) because data was taking up server space, you thought adding a new map with some really cool lighting effects would solve all the issues. yeah thanks playground, you missed the target again!

you are why the game will never be fixed

No, YOU are. There’s probably a hundred threads all with nothing but complaints. They nailed this expansion(and this months DLC) in my eyes, and they deserve to know they did a good job. This isn’t about MP, rivals, leaderboards, whatever, this is about the expansion.

someone gives praise for a job well done
“WELL ACSTHUALLEY THIS IS WHY THE GAME SUCKS”

This community man I swear. Lol

Agreed. Yes, the game has issues. Multiplayer and rivals … not acceptable. But there are good ways and bad ways to go about getting fixes.

First of all, we people posting here are a minority. The game is selling and it’s getting good reviews. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t issues, but it does mean that we need to give the developers good reasons to change things.

And our demeanor matters. If this forum looks like it’s populated by a bunch of veteran players with constructive attitudes that can be used as long-term testers, our suggestions carry some weight. But if all we do is complain at a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale about anything and everything, and don’t point out what is good and works as well as what’s bad and doesn’t, then why should they listen? I keep going back to the complaints about The Trial co-op championships … how they were structured and what prizes were offered. They actually gave the community exactly what they asked for, and there weren’t many, if any, thank yous, but instead a bunch of complaints, many taking the exact opposite side as the original complaints. We, the community, didn’t like avatar stuff as prizes. So they offered money and people complained that there weren’t any avatar prizes. People complained, and still complain, about the wheelspin system. Like, a lot. So they gave us money. Then people complained saying that they wanted wheelspins. They thought we hated wheelspins.

This kind stuff is frustrating when on the other end, and since the game is selling well and being reviewed well, and we don’t sound like we are objective and measured about our gripes, why should they go against the sales numbers and positive reviews and do things to please us, the minority?

Yes, the multiplayer system is, uh, not what a lot of people here would like, my included. Same for rivals. That said, I’ve enjoyed this expansion a lot so far and haven’t been hit with bugs. This pleases me and I appreciate it. If other people are getting hit with bugs, that’s a different story and I hope that would get resolved. But in terms of design, I like the expansion. It’s a hit for me. I like hits, not misses. Multiplayer is a miss. I hope the developers see that not all gripes are equal and, while the number of comments on the multiplayer threads show that the multiplayer has been a miss, we can be rational and acknowledge the hits, too.

I’m not reading a wall of text that isn’t relevant to the thread. I’ll say it again, this thread is NOT about MP, rivals, leaderboards, whatever. It’s about the expansion. You got a complaint about the other stuff (which I do too, but I) post in the appropriate thread(s). There’s one with FIFTY pages, then there’s some with a few post or pages.

Hey Clutch, If I read the snip you are commenting about correctly he is actually backing you up. I think he is on your side…just saying. Yes I understand it was a wall of text but it mostly backed up your comment if I understood it correctly but I have been wrong before.

You got it right. That’s the kind of thing that can happen when somebody argues with something they didn’t read. If it’s too much of a chore, ignore it.

No problems? That train was…urrm and still is jerky laggy. Its rubbish for a AAA game…try racing against it with the drone or your car.

Do you really thing that things like competive racing and rivals is been removed because server space? It’s design choise not something that they need to do because server space. I have ranting here a lot but PG is not only reason why fh4 is like it is now, it’s because somebody want more money and what’s the way to make money, release a new game and most of games these days are half finnish because game studios dont have enough time to developing game enough.

And once again lets say somethink abaout topic, i start today running kraken circuit with s1 class cars in summer weather and it’s look really awesome and i really like that track, i dont remember fh1 tracks but i think this can be best circuit that horizon is have so far.

Actually, I give constructive criticism in the appropriate thread and make use of suggestions and feedback vs statements in a topic unrelated to the topic. Vs a post because a development team continued work on something started before launch vs working on something they dont have the skills/expertise/or knowledge of.

Can almost guarantee the FI people are not involved with multiplayer mechanics which as has be stated has people heartily working on a solution hoping for an expanded and revised come season 5.

And ask anybody who has done anything with coding, more people doesnt mean faster work. Can only get one person working on any one aspect of it really.

So the topic was about what the OP was glad about. So the peeps involved with the train fixed the train and is satisfied with FI. Yay!

I really like Forza Horizon 4, it sounds like I’m going to be as excited as the OP next I play and see the train isn’t lagging.

Also looking forward to playing the Fortune Island next time I get turn it all on, sounds awesome.

Thanks Playground Games and Turn 10

As a casual it’s a great game, I’ve had literally every forza and used to be a Motorsport guy.

If all you’ve got is Few hours a week split into 20 minute bursts it’s an amazing game, but I’d probably hate it if I wanted to spend 20 hours a week on it like I did the motorsport games. I tend to get about enough time to complete a forzathon and do a few races. Like the new expansion has a grim beauty to it, and the ram is a lot of fun with it’s 8 speeds.

I will agree. This game is really good casual game to spend like 1-1 and half hour into it and then go back to motorsport.
