These 2 post are the exact reason I’ve said what I said and trust it has nothing to do with me sticking up for the DEV’s at all.
There will never be a right time for them to stop doing anything. More than likely the Dev’s could read this thread hand out full sets of unicorns to everyone that owns a 360 and Forza 4(even ones not members of the forum) and a week later someone would be here saying they just got the game and wondered why they couldn’t get unicorns like everyone else.
People this game is nearing 4 years old(in Forza gaming years that’s old) and has a younger brother that like to misbehave 2 step siblings and a another on the way all while still trying to figure out their new house, it’s time for the devs to step back a little don’t you think.
The servers for this game are still active and they offer everything the game itself offered since day one it’s just now the devs aren’t gifting/putting up new rivials anymore and while that sucks it’s part of the process. Like I and others have said before you can’t show up to the party late and still expect the bar/food table to be full.
There is actually a perfect time until when a Xbox 360 game should be supported: As long as Xbox Live is supported for the Xbox 360. If a game says it’s got online multiplayer, achievements and what not, then it should also have them the entire time! You can still buy a sealed copy of that game, and it says “achievements” on the back. When you start the game and are connected to XBL it says you can earn a maximum of 1250 gamerscore points, but 10 are now unobtainable, unless you have the VIP pack for Forza 3 downloaded (which can’t be downloaded anymore if you haven’t got it on your HDD already). There is no warning anywhere on the disc that some achievements will become unobtainable. The excuse “it’s an old game” is just ridiculous, if they include things that need their support, then they have to provide that support. Simple as that.
I own every Forza game, starting with Forza 3, except for Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360. It’s just very disappointing, that I cannot complete all of these games now, especially since it would’ve been an easy achievement, which I would’ve gotten by now (since I’m Tier 4), if they’d provide the support needed. I’m one of the people that try to always get all achievements, and if this is how T10 supports their games, then I’m not sure if it was the right decision to buy them all, and I’m not sure if I’ll buy their new releases. It just makes no sense to remove the unicorns, or EVERY chance to get one.
This may not be a big deal for everyone, but for me as a completionist, if a game has unobtainable achievements, I consider it broken. It doesn’t do everything it promises on the box, and it can’t be completed. It’s especially disappointing, if you shell out extra money for DLC, spend 200+ hours on a game, and then they won’t even keep up support for what THEY included in the game. Just chose ANY unicorn for every Tier level over a certain one. For example EVERYONE who reaches Tier 3 gets the same unicorn, then for the following tiers another. Or maybe only start at Tier 5, I don’t care, as long as there is at least one working way to gain this achievement.
Couple questions.First, lets say xbox live for the 360 is supported for another 4 years(might end next year but that is another story) do you really think the Devs should be spending their time handing out unicorns for Forza 4 so johnny come lately can catch up? Second, I can still go out and by Forza 2 sealed from a local game stop so should turn10 still be supporting it just because I can buy it and the 360 still has live support? If the answer is yes then you have very unrealistic views. The unicorn achievement wasn’t going to be something that everyone could do anyway not just because you had to earn them but if you didn’t have internet connection or gold service there would be no way to get them. Buying a old game is a risk in itself and even to this day Forza 4 offers everything it promised it’s just the devs have taken a step back from gifting and updating new rivals.
Not sure what you’re getting at but unicorns for tier level ended awhile ago, long before they stopped giving them out so even if they still did you wouldn’t be getting one because of tier level not to mention if you have been here long enough to remember them doing that then you either just made it to these forums or you didn’t try very hard to get them. Also not really sure how you can say what turn10 is doing is bad support practice when they supported this game in full for nearly 4 years and have just now taken a step back from it while STILL supporting the game.
Again it sucks you can’t complete the game, I can’t either as I don’t nor will I ever own a Kinect but that’s just how it goes. Still not sure what Tier level has to do with anything or how that would help because if you’re not a member of this forum you couldn’t redeem them and then what about all the people who only started forza with 4 and don’t have that high of a tier level should they just be left out?
I really truly feel sorry for everyone who weren’t able to get unicorns weather you came late or you’ve been here and just never got one but they have work to do FOR US and this game just isn’t a major priority anymore and with each passing day it’s going to be less and less so enjoy what you’ve got while you can
On my post I should of said game discs that have all cars (including unicorns) and tracks for all Forza xbox 360 games from Forza 2 to Forza 4. Turn 10 can do this so people that cannot afford the xbox one can at least enjoy the full version of the Forza games from Forza 2 to Forza 4. Please no more mentioning that people are showing up to the party too late.
Turn10 could do that but wouldn’t be worth it for them. While there are people still coming and playing these games late that small percentage wouldn’t warrant the effort and money spent for them coming back to the old games and releasing all said content on disc.
Forza 2 and 3 already have something similar with the platinum bonus dics for Forza 2 and the platinum ultimate editions for 3. Sadly 4 doesn’t have one and I don’t really seem them making one at this point for reasons mentioned above
In terms of the effort, time, i.e. money that they cannot afford to dump into this old(er) property? - in my opinion T10 is very short sighted not to somehow expend what I could, I believe reasonably, expect would be very little to figure out a reasonable way to turn these unicorn cars all loose for everyone. And also that nobody, but nobody from T10 has ever dared to say it’d be too hard… it’d be too costly - They are not going to admit failure. That’s fine I suppose, but, again, IMO they are also Failing, doing a poor job burnishing their brand. Seems to me that this would be a cheap marketing win for them.
Not 100% sure the message you’re trying to get across but here goes.
It’s not that they can’t afford to come back to this game and do all that it’s just the return wouldn’t be worth it. Most of Forza 4 user base has either moved on to 5 or have been here long enough to have everything they could want from the game so they aren’t going to spend money on a new feature and thus Turn 10 is wasting man hours and money.
As stated the unicorn cars were meant to be gifts for participation in various in game and forum competitions and rare items sold in the auction house that would go to the highest bidder(which became a trap for modders). They are unicorns for a reason.
Not sure how them saying “it’s too hard” or “it’s too costly” would be them admitting failure or how giving out unicorns to everyone would be a marketing win for them. Even now the rarity of unicorns is bringing the forum traffic for a game that is well past it’s prime.
The best idea I have seen yet was the lifting of the gift/selling aspect but then you open up the system for all the modders to run rampant with gifting and selling of unlicensed/unofficial unicorns which could lead to many other things. It sucks that they are no longer giving them out but they felt it was time to stop so it’s time to stop and after nearly 4 years I’d say that’s ok
They were never intended to be for everyone - they required effort and sometimes luck. T10 never wanted the unicorns for everyone and they will not be making them available either.
I hope I am not the only person that would like for Turn 10 to put a game box set of Forza 2 to Forza 4 with all cars (including unicorns) and all tracks that were created for the games. Please people email Turn 10 if you think my idea is a good idea. I good company should listen to its customers, so if enough people agree with my idea it might just happen.
I understand turn 10 not having the time to put effort into 4 but maybe if they just lifted the sell/gift ban from the unicorns people like me that just wanted the achievement and now come to realize that other than being rare the unicorns really aren’t good cars. I very rarely drive them and if possible I would gladly pass them along as would many others in the game. I know auctioning these cars would only put them in the hands of credit modders but if they could be gifted then passing them from a friend to a friend to a friend would see everyone getting a chance at the achievement. I’m not much of a tech mined person and don’t know if lifting the gift ban is possible but I figure I’d throw my voice out there. And to everybody wanting these unicorns because you think they are amazing cars I personally think you aren’t missing much but maybe that’s just me. I’m not ungrateful for my unicorns I’m just saying that I would pass them along to give others a chance at the unicorn acheivement
1.) you cannot please all of the people all of the time
2.) First World problems
2.) nobody is perfect
I had a boss once that often said “I wouldn’t have done it that way” as an opening line to you when you screwed-up - a little bit, not too badly. The older I get the better I believe I understand the sentiment, what he must have really meant when he said that.
Why have people lost focus of customer satisfaction. Obviously many people want unicorns, so why not give unicorns to them to please them. I am not even going to think about buying Forza 6 until I get a response back from Turn 10 about my message I sent them nearly 4 months ago. I don’t now about you, but I am very disappointed by Turn 10 because I feel like an ignored and unimportant customer just by not getting a response from Turn 10.
Cause then everyone would just have them and then there would be no point in them. Everyone who has unicorns had to earn them either or had to shell out extra money and even then they weren’t promised they were just gifts because you paid more.
We haven’t lost focus on customer satisfaction we just know it’s time for that focus to be placed on the bigger and better. I’d much rather them be fixing Forza 5(which still isn’t fixed)/FH2 and working on Forza 6 to be the best Forza I have ever seen rather than wasting time on forza 4.
& How would giving unicorns to everyone effect those customers who worked hard to earn one because they were rare and hard to achieve?
What was your message about? Because if you sent it 4 months ago, you still missed out on getting unicorns on the forums from competitions on here at that point.
it is annoying, you say “we” when I don’t believe that you speak for “them” - or does he, t10? if you, t10 are going to let… speak for you, t10, then it is perhaps worse that I thought!!!
Whether you like his phraseology/ grammar or not he has a point.
To be fair if someone wants to hear this direct from T10, just contact Helios on the forums by PM or e-mail them.
The forums are populated by the community these days and T10 interactions are few and far between - not seen a post from a T10 representative on fm4 since I came back in January.
So posting questions only T10 can answer or pleas for them to do something or change something are pretty pointless - as you will only hear back from the community, who either want what you want, or have been around long enough to understand it’s just not going to happen.
Of course I don’t speak for Turn10 and when I say “we” I mean the other member of this forum that understand that it’s time for the dev’s to move on from Forza 4.
Seen the video and from what I’ve seen Turn10 has done everything the video states to do when the game still had full support. Turn10 has already given a response when they told us they were no longer supporting unicorns so you must be looking for a reason which is going to be different from Dev to Dev.
Like Damme2006 said the Devs haven’t cruised the Forza 4 forums in quite some time so if you want to hear these words from the Dev’s mouth then you may just want to PM them for your answers

Obviously you did not get the message from the video because Turn 10 has still not answered my message which has nothing to do with unicorns. My message that I sent to Turn 10 was a private message. And Turn 10 should not turn their focus away from older systems like the xbox 360 so they can only focus on the xbox one. There are still people that like forza 3 and still want to always use the storefront and auction house. Also I am not the only person that is still waiting for a response from Turn 10.
