We can't choose cars for the Drivatars? Really?

Tried PCars and could not get my wheel to work properly. It would spaz out and jerk around as soon as the car moved. Could not get it fixed no matter what I tried. It is not just GT3 racing that I want to do. I love how Forza handles, the cars we have available, how accessible the tuning is. All of that portion of the game is great to me. What is not great is the lack of ability we as the players have at setting up offline races against the CPU with the specs that we want.

I have never posted on the forums yet. I agree with everyone here. This is ridiculous! I would love to set up a full on endurance event in free play. With mixed Prototype and GT classes. Not only can you not setup a race with the exact cars you want but, 50 laps as the max amount of laps you can run!? I would LOVE to go even longer than that! Maybe 150-200 even! Another thing that should be added to free play’s options is running a time based race instead of laps like REAL endurance racing does. So I could setup like a 3-6 hour race or something. I don’t know if I’m the only one that would be willing to run that long, but I feel this is a necessary feature as well. Oh and please add Daytona Prototypes to the game too!

Time based races are would be much better or set the lap counter up to 200 that whe can run a full 500 miles on ovals. Now you can run 50 laps. Thats for the nordschleife or le mans maybe enough. The races on the ovals are 40 min at max… did nobody see the difference between daytona oval and nordschleife as they set the lapcounter to 50. I’m sure the most never drive 50 laps on the nürburgring. But I’m sure that some would like to run more than 50 laps on the ovals.
I’m think they didn’t read this thread anymore.

Reading the two most recent WIRs actually highlights how critical this component is to the enjoyment of a driving game that attempts to recreate real life cars (avoiding the word simulation here).

First Johniwanna enthuses about the Datsun Sports 2000 and recommends racing it against the Alfa Spider and Lotus Cortina.

How would we do that then?

Then in the most recent WIR, there is the link to the Chris Harris comparison between the LaFerrari, P1 and 918. When the 918 arrives in FM6, wouldn’t it be great if we could … Ah, hang on, how would we do that then?

/sigh.

I was playing FM2 online this weekend. You have a lot of options to setup the race. Here is a list of some of the options you can use to limit the cars.

Class
Performance index
Horsepower
Year
Manufacturer
Weight
Country of origin
Stock (no upgrades)

I think there is more. I’d love to see this in free play in FM6.

Forza 6 gathering dust…

theirs no point in upgrading low tier cars if you cant remove racecars from the lobby. not to mention that you cant upgrade low tier cars to higher tiers in career mode.

It is legitimately depressing how we can’t choose our opponents in free play or even in private lobbies. I know I’m beating a dead horse, but if it was just Forza 4 with some new graphics, updated cars and tracks, it would be just about the perfect game. The variety of cars that appear in this game could result in some great multiclass races. Instead it just results in a gigantic mess.

“Welcome to the December Content Update for Forza Motorsport 6! This month we lead off with a big feature that has been in demand from the Forza Community: the ability to choose car divisions when racing in Freeplay! With this content update, players can now choose from a variety of car divisions in Freeplay – for example 1970s GP, Modern GT, V8 Supercars, and so on – and then race against Drivatars driving those specific car types in your race.”

Well all right then.

Is that what the community has been demanding? Pretty sure we were asking for the ability to choose ai drivers. Seriously T10, just give us on the online options in freeplay mode, please please please!!!

Thanks Turn 10  very happy that whe get the feature that whe can choose no the body style of the cars. This feature give the game much mure deep and long time motivation for guys who prefer Rivals and Free Play. Thumbs up for adding that feature and that you´re guys not only listen and take us serious as community

Congratulations people. I really hope that it was us, who did it and it’s not just a coincidence. That would give me another go at T10 and would prove some kind of their loyalty to their clients.
Although, I can’t start the praise as it was a feature which should have been included from the get go. But anyhow, have fun people. Still a bummer we can’t choose individual opponents, but this step is in the right direction.

Once again, have fun, as for me personally, this is pretty much the first time I booted my Xone in a long long time.

Now we have it. Yeah!

I think you can be sure it was this thread that did it.

Outstanding result. I am very impressed by Turn 10!

First of, I haven’t been active in this thread, however I have always followed it and supported the topic.
I had also lost all hope, but the fact that T10 now introduced this feature gave me back my hope for T10.
Thanks guys that you kept asking for it

Thankyou Turn10.

Just tried out a 50 lap Imsa/Group 5 race with the Imsa RX7 at Lime Rock. and the leader did not head off into the distance either.

I’ll wait and see how it works before celebrating. There will still be grid compositions that we cannot achieve.

Remember there are cars that don’t seem to have a division in Career. I think it should be ok because these cars do have divisions in leaderboards.

There are still going to be oddball matchups like the Golfs that are grouped with the rally cars.

But hey, it’s progress.

The one big flaw with this is that opponent cars still don’t auto-upgrade, so hopping in a Free Play with a car upgraded to top of its class puts you up against a bunch of other cars that are fully stock. This doesn’t mean much if you’re using some of the race car categories: the Grand Prix, Can Am, Prototype, and Global Touring Cars seem well balanced, and groups like V8 Supercars and Formula E all have the same PI anyways. But in road car groups, your opponents are dozens if not 100+ points behind you in PI, so you get put at the pole position of the grid unless you’re running stock or a couple cars in your division run top-of-class PIs when stock. Historic Sportscar Racing is the division I was looking forward to the most, but since it runs everything from a C418 Lamborghini Miura to an A674 Ferrari 330 P4, it doesn’t seem too workable.

Great news! Really appreciate t10 responding to the community on this.

Edit: VIP, and car pass purchased.
