We can't choose cars for the Drivatars? Really?

I’ve purchased every Forza title to date. I don’t post here ever and don’t plan on doing so in the future, but felt it is my duty to post in this thread to express my deep disappointment with Turn 10 to fully ignore their entire customer base when they beg to correct a simple problem with their latest title. This will be my last purchase from this series if this problem is not correctly addressed.

I understand their concern that fully customizable offline play could take away from online participation, but alienating their customers will only hurt both online and offline play while hurting future sales for whatever new titles may come.

I also understand that the game development industry is a lot harder than most people understand, but guess what, a lot of us deal with similarly difficult careers. That’s why I enjoy the quick accessibility of Forza than firing up my desktop computer with my steering wheel to play rfactor2 or Project CARS. We all must answer to decisions and mistakes in our careers, and it’s time Turn 10 does such.

I’ve given up. Add the free play options, don’t add them…I don’t care. Fallout 4 is totally amazing and I only have so many hours to play games in a week.

Sorry for the negativity, but quite frankly Turn 10, you deserve it.

Thanks god FO4 is out which let me forget this problem as well as this game.

OUCH!

  1. pitting Fallout 4 against Forza 6 this way is like scoffing at a pizza for not having one of your favorite toppings and deciding to have a beer instead.

  2. feel free to follow up in this thread the first time you encounter one of the numerous game-breaking, save-corrupting, or otherwise experience-ruining bugs in Fallout 4, if you haven’t already, and let us know if it is a bigger problem than having limited Free Play options.

Eh, Bethesda aspires to better even if they miss the mark, T10 doesn’t care. Also I’ve finished the story without a single bug, and I can’t say the same for forza 6…

The funny thing is, Forza 6 is a pizza with all of our favourite toppings.

The problem is that it has all those toppings at once, rather than letting us choose the ones that actually go together…

That is such a great analogy. It’s a real kick to the crotch because just about all the other good racing Sims are European made and predominantly feature European tracks, being able to use the cars we want on American locations would be the major draw for this game as opposed to Project Cars.

Yeah, most likely nothing will happen anyway. So best time to move on to other games. This was my last forza. Not even a word from the devs other than the one ages ago.

I remember in PGR 4 you could choose each opponents individual cars.

Yeah I like the pizza analogy because that reflects the choice factor. We can’t choose stuff. It’s there. We see them putting the toppings on right in front of our eyes, but we can’t override the choices being made.

We can’t say, “please don’t put anchovies on our meat lover pizza” before it goes into the oven. In fact, we don’t even know what is being selected until the pizza comes out of the oven and then find our meat lovers has nothing but anchovies. We can only hope that the chef gets it right based on how much money we have in our hand basically. The chef looks at how much we our holding and tries to give us a pizza to that value, without accounting for what our taste may be.

Are you guys hungry or something?

Well the problem is everything has already been said about this issue. The even bigger problem is that it seems T10 doesn´t care since there is no communication about what or if
there is something going on.

I think my metaphor got a little out of control. Whoops. I still think that even if I’m upset that they left off the sausage and forgot the garlic bread, Forza 6 tastes better than the greasy gas station slices, microwave Hot Pockets, or gourmet margherita that got accidentally burnt to a crisp that I’ve seen from other… pizzerias?

I’ve actually been playing Fallout 4 for the last couple days and funny enough my reaction’s been similar to how I’ve been feeling about Forza 6 except three times as much both positive and negative: as someone who’s been a fan of the franchise from the beginning, the new features are exciting yet need fine-tuning (“AI doesn’t know what it’s doing and gets stuck in the scenery” doesn’t just apply to drivatars), I miss some of the older features (expanded dialogue options and more interesting writing are my “where’s the auction house???”), the bugs are irritating though not entirely game-breaking (yet), and despite all the flaws I find it a fun, colorful environment to mess around in and expect both devs and users to make it an even more entertaining experience the longer the game’s lifespan goes.

I’m probably not going to drive the Chryslus, though. That seems a little too out-of-place.

Another supporter of this feature…

Another useless week in review … it’s frustrating that Turn10 doesn’t care about this thread …

To be fair I’m not really too optimistic about anything being changed in Forza 6. I just hope they learn in Forza 7 to either open up the Free Play to give us more options, or make the career mode less linear so we can be as flexible with races as Forza 3, 4 and 5 let us be.

And another one …

Pisses me off how worthless Free Play is. Not everyone has a large group for friends to set up races and game with. I have ZERO real life friends that play this game. I should not have to try and group up with people over the internet in order to organize a GT3 racing series. Not everyone wants to play video games with people online. Give the player who plays in offline modes the freedom they deserve. Absolute rubbish that we do not have any freedom and how we set up free play races. Complete garbage.
