After seeing an ad for the end of the Beetle’s production made by VW, I have some interesting facts about the Beetle
- Herbie, first seen in the 1968 Film The Love Bug, is a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle. The Front Turn Signals are from a Porsche 356. Herbie has had 5 films
- The Beetle was first known as the Type 1, and production started in 1945
- In 1955, 1 million VW Beetles have been sold over ten years.
- Ferinand Porsche designed the Beetle and the Porsche 356, both on the same platform.
- In 2000, Volkswagen Beetles were first used in racing.
6.On Newer Beetles, the VW logo raises as a backup camera. - There are 3 main Beetle versions: The Original Type 1, produced from 1945 to 1997, the VW New Beetle sold during the 1990’s and 2000’s, and the current generation Beetle, which resembles the type 1’s shape.
- The new Volkswagen Beetle has a Turbocharged 2.0 Liter 4 Cylinder Engine.
- 2019 Beetle Models can hit speeds up to 149 Mph.
- The Volkswagen I.D> Buggy uses the headlights of the Beetle and VW says the Buggy is the Beetle’s succesor
- Type 1 Headlights were made by the company Slyvania, who makes light bulbs today
- In Need For Speed games, Beetles can be highly modified from different hoods and 3SDM rim to rectangle taillights
