V8 Heritage series

What an awful series. 2 boring oval races in heavy boring cars. So glad they didn’t have the carpg mechanic around for this as the grind to getting a moderately enjoyably driving car would be really taking the ####

It wouldn’t be so bad if T10 actually studied the handling of these cars in their stock form and gave us something other than these bouncing floppy ill handling “things”.

I wish they would have included Homestead in that series, not because it would be better to drive, but because the AI can’t drive the oval track in muscle cars, and the replays are funny to watch.
It’s kinda like “the big one” in NASCAR, every single lap.

I have owned several of those cars, I would say the handling is very comparable

You must have had some real junker cars then. Cause I’ve never driven an old muscle car, and I’m talking about back in the day with stock suspension, that handled bouncie and wobbly like the way these forza fiction cars handle.

This is my current build, so I’m not sure I’d call them junkers.

I restore cars been doing it 25 years. My dad is a purest and insists on stock, he currently has 9 vehicles. Most are near mint.

Old cars are definitely floaty. They lean hard in the corners.

Some early muscle cars didn’t even have rear sway bars.

I like restomod myself. I tighten up the cars, but they still don’t handle great without serious suspension modifications.

What have you driven that’s even remotely comparable to any modern sedan?

Yeah, ok, they may lean in corners. Some more than others. But floaty? No. And some without a rear sway bar? Yes mayby. But not all. The 69 Charger R/T? Yes, no rear bar. But the front suspension, the torsion bar suspension and the front sway bar did a right good job helping the handling on those cars. As far as I can recall they corned very well and without all the bounce and float forza has built into them. 70 Chevelle ss was very flat in corners.

We could go round and round on this but I’m not interested in doing that. Just one man’s opinion vs another man’s opinion. You’ve done it for 25 years yippee yiyahakiyah cowboy. I’m 65, worked on cars all my life.

I think T10 could have given the muscle cars, and a lot of other cars in the games (this and previous games) better handling profiles as stick cars. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! Just the opinion of one “grumpy old man”. Later! :+1::call_me_hand::popcorn::hotdog::beer:

Yeah, I don’t think you’re taking the speed in the game into consideration at all. Those cars all started floating like crazy at speed.

Can’t even imagine taking my old 4 wheel drum dart swinger to 100mph, would take a runway to stop the thing.

Old GM stuff with rag joint steer shafts.

I can’t even think of a car that handled well. Even my 1972 Corvette handled worse than my 1500 Denali pickup I drive today.

Working on cars in your driveway and building cars from the ground up are very, very different things.

It’s how I made my living.

This happened to one of the Drivatars in the first turn of Laguna Seca in the series for me. Gotta love it.

What a complex and intelligent AI! They even helped the other car around, how nice. /s

I don’t think you know me well enough to be insulting me like this and I really don’t care to have you know me any more. If you’re not good enough to make it from your driveway and build up from there then you probably can’t get your brakes to work good enough get your car stopped. As I said in my last post. Later. Bye from my driveway.

Not my most favourite set of races, stuck with a s**tbox of a car just to progress to the next series. Not a fan of old muscle cars but if they are your thing, each to there own.

The game does a very accurate job of representing how how it was to get those old cars to stop too.

I’ve got to stand on the pedal in my sim rig. I didn’t have a grand national, but I had a t type regal.

Handles and stops very similar.

Just for specs comparison, 1972 Corvette, arguably the best performance car of the era, a car with large power assisted 4 wheel disc

60-0 137 feet.

Wonder how good manual 4 wheel drums did back in the day. I’m sure you remember it like it out stopped a AMG Mercedes.

My 2018 Pickup that weighs probably double that Corvette
60-0 126 feet

New corvettes are in the low 90s

Game is a perfect simulation, I don’t think they need to change a thing! Lovineveryminuteofit!

At least we got vintage leman in MP.

Not sure I’d call it a perfect simulation, but the physics is greatly improved over previous titles.

Glad you’re enjoying it. Would be kind of dumb to spend your life playing and complaining about a game you hate when there are lots of other options out there

Now that I’ve Played it I didn’t mind the tracks because the muscle cars feel awful to drive on controller even with sim steering & Tuning doesn’t do much either it either makes it even worse or undriveable Build from the ground up !
