so after the update the other day i noticed i was getting horrible performance and framerate. i tried updating my Nvidia game ready driver and was still getting abyssmal results. only after i decided to check the graphics settings did i notice the game reset everything to ultra, which my gaming rig can run but i choose not to use. i prefer game performance over graphical fidelity. anyone else have this problem?
For me that didn’t happen (PC/MS Store).
Maybe u clicked too fast sometimes it shows some dialog with suggested settings/custom/benchmark
i’ve been using the same settings since early release. i never got any prompt to reset my graphics settings, it just did it on it’s own.
Everytime i update the driver for gpu (rtx 4060) it changes the settings in game and makes the game look like crap. Is there any way to stop that from happening?
I don’t think so. This has been a problem for quite a while.
I’ve re-downloaded the Nvidia App which fixed this issue for me, however, turning this setting off or unoptimizing should be enough, I believe.
I think the problem is with the game and not the drivers. when you update the drivers or the game has an update, the game runs the optimization process which automatically changes things to what it believes are the best settings for your system which are usually wrong
I could crap on Nvidia all day for their issues but this is 100% a game issue and unfortunately, there is no way to solve it
I had the exact same issue until I re-installed the Nvidia App. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the same for you, I’m just saying this worked for me.
Thats good news. I didn’t use the Nvidia app and went driver only when that was finally available because I didn’t want the GeForce Experience app but still had the issues of settings being reset upon driver or game updates
