Update 13.0 Overview: Mustang Month | October 14 content update

I’ve already re-calibrated it. In game settings don’t match system calibration. I have to set it about 50 nits lower in game vs exact 4000 in system level. So my in game peak is set to 3950 in order to ease the clipping. The image over all is a smidge too saturated as well. Doesn’t look as natural in HDR10 as it does in Dolby Vision. Problem with Dolby Vision is the peak isn’t bright enough. Looks like it has a limiter on it or something. Like it’s not hitting the 1500 nits peak my G3 is capable of. This update is an improvement, but at some point the colors were saturated more and it’s just too much. Video game HDR is still very much a crap shoot. I’m not asking for a reversion. Just want it dialed in a bit more. The game honestly looked better at launch as far as color saturation goes.

Anyone notice fuel load seems to be glitched during practice after this update?

Tried setting during practice and after exiting practice but was always full fuel load when driving.

I do have a question @T10ManteoMax. According to the patch notes there are 3 weeks described for the update. But the last race series starts at the beginning of week 4. Does this mean that update 14 will start after 3 weeks and both updates will run parallel until update 13 is over? Or is this just a typo? Just curious about how that will work out. Thanks.

I’m confused because I just installed the update, there’s no drift tyres, no drift transmission, and there’s only the 7 FD cars available to buy.

There was a game crash issue with the Drift Rivals events so we’ve temporarily removed those to avoid gameplay issues:

Drift upgrade parts were not included in this update.

Okay, didn’t expect a drift update without drift parts. Especially since it means we have to buy not build them. That’s certainly a choice.

And I just realised that the other cars are unlocked later, unlike every other update this far. Which I low key hate.

Hey, Turn10, please fix this. Updated penalty system is definitely flawed.

The Steam news got me worried. :speak_no_evil:

Probably place higher than 100 other players. Seeing that rivals are now starting with the slowest person on your friends list, I imagine the required rivals are not direct challengers but, people on the general leaderboard.

Side note -

Anyone else notice the heat shimmer effect? Wavy Laguna Seca is back in effect.

Some times, all it takes is pointing the problem out. If its a simple and effective fix, popularity wont matter much.

if this, literally “straight piped” mustang sound the same as street version… i will be quite disapointed

So far I think the 2024 Mustang GT/Dark Horse sound excellent in stock form. I wouldn’t be surprised if all they did was snag the 2018 Mustang GT stock exhaust sound and tweaked it a bit, but aside from the low RPMs it sounds like a mean and aggressive modern muscle V8 to me. I’m sure more hardcore enthusiasts will have plenty to say about it though, right? :smirk:

I can confirm the trans-am Mustang Boss sounds different from the street version in game. Sounds great too

Same exact thing happened to me today… Except I got spun out AND a five second penalty

At first I looked favorably on the changes in this new update, but it has ended up disappointing me, and here are the reasons why.

Many Mustangs but none important as GT3, GT4 or the Dark Horse R Challenge. The one they have given with the pass is great, and would serve as a future series, but the fact that it is not available to all players, already makes it unfeasible.

The change from 16 minutes to 18, surprises me, because it was the most popular or preferred format, and yet the short and endurance races are kept with the same duration. I don’t quite understand it, honestly.

Perhaps something like that, I would see as more reasonable:
~12 minutes (short)
~18 minutes (medium)
~30 minutes (long)
~42 - 48 minutes (endurance)

GTX with stock tires, which makes the ride somewhat erratic, uncomfortable and boat-like. However, with the Pennzoil Nismo having racing tires, the handling changes completely, making it quite comfortable and fun compared to the others.
And of course, with soft tires, it makes quite a difference compared to the other cars.

The fact that the Shelby GT500 Spec Series is 8 minutes long, means that next week the MX-5 Cup will be 8 minutes long as well. Honestly, it seems to me a clear way to waste that series. Also this type of series should have racing transmission and possibly racing tires. But there is a clear difference in speed between who knows how to use the clutch + manual than the one who only uses manual shift. I think this type of series should prioritize handling and equality.

What I liked is the change in the penalties for track limit, although it’s not perfect, at least it’s not so severe. Although unfortunately there are still 4 seconds penalties when a rival gives you a lateral hit.

New sounds aren’t bad, but I do want for a bit more low end dynamic range. Still feel a tad squashed to me.
