Unrealistic Time Records in Forza Motorsports 8 Online Racing: A Glitch or Cheating?

Hey fellow racers,

Recently, while playing Forza Motorsports 8, I’ve observed something intriguing during online races. Have any of you noticed racers setting seemingly unrealistic times during practice and qualification sessions, but you never actually spot them on the track? I’ve even tried sitting at the start-finish line to catch a glimpse, but the racer in question never crossed the line, even though their time updated.

I’m wondering if this could be some sort of glitch in the game, or is it possible that there’s cheating involved? Are there any known exploits that allow this? It’s a bit frustrating, especially for those of us genuinely trying to compete and improve our skills.

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this. Let’s keep the race fair and fun for everyone!

Cheers,

I have wondered the same thing. But the mess of online play could account for this. It is so bugged and I am lucky to complete a race without being disconnected. Or being told I have a poor connection.

I have also seen people update times at the same time as me. But I see no-one on track. Weather they are in a different instance for qualifying, so it isn’t to packed, and people can get a clean lap I don’t know.

But I’m sure there must be some cheaters out there and people using exploits. How I don’t know.

Just encountered this while racing in the Forza TC, someone had a 47 seconds lap time in practice when we all can barely get 1:09:00! Then I noticed his qualifying time was 1:12:00 so probably a glitch. If he was cheating he would get the same 47 sec qualifying time.

I was running one of the career mode races practice sessions (Single Player), the Built for Sport @ Mugello and my best time was 2:13.699 (slow I know, reasons), but the leaderboard was claiming I ran a 1:57.xxx. There seem to be quite a few glitches, I don’t know if they can be deliberately triggered though.

I did have to restart the practice session because when it handed over control at the start it decided to shift me into neutral, I then spun and was hit by an AI. (using paddle shifters in manual mode as car had a 7-speed DSG). I don’t know if this triggered the issue.

You can glitch higher class cars in low class events/races. Idk if this is what your seeing but its a thing.

Just saw the exact same thing. Were we in the same room? Lol. He had penalties on the lap though so it’s totally possible he took some shortcuts but even that doesn’t seem feasible for that much time.

I just realized, the lap that it was giving me credit for in the career mode race was left over from a free play session where I had been running some laps on Mid Ohio in an entirely different car. It also happened again to me today with another junk time, this time on Silverstone.

I guess it could be a glitch. But in my raced the same guy that has that unrealistic qualifying lap. Then takes off in the race and is running the same time each lap. I was in second place and he running like 1.49 sec laps. He was running 55 sec laps and leading by over a min. Like he doesn’t have to break or slow down for corner’s or something.

I noticed that the game follows the H-Shifter gear position even when using the paddle shifters. Due to this, I always try to match the gear lever position with the gear used by AI just before handing me over the control of the car (or putting it in first gear before a standing start). Maybe you experienced this, and it is not linked to the timings bug.

Makes no sense right!? Turn 10 has a lot of work to do!

That was my suspicion when it came to starting in neutral because that is where the H-pattern shifter was. I have had the time bug occur a second time in career mode, and it seems to have something to do with not clearing the time properly from the previous event, or at least time train in free play (I recognized the lap time).

It’s nice that you can contest suspicious laptimes in Rivals… I doubt that’s possible in online racing though. I mean I guess you could report them, but with replays being buggy, proving anything might be hard.

What you hear is that there are programs that allow you to change the performance of the car to make it better! And I have seen the front of opponents who stop on the track, the car jumps briefly and then the rival time could undercut so that there is something wrong (I also reported the time directly) it is a pity that as an honest driver you are deprived of your performance by such fraudsters! They only need here and there a few percent to improve the driving behavior of the vehicle and then drove a second faster than the others
