Universal Studios BTTF - missing DeLorean logo

The DMC Logo is Missing or Delorean

Some people are saying it’s due to licensing issues but I don’t get it. Why is it an issue with Forza? Every BTTF DeLorean toy car, scale model and even the Lego sets have the DMC logo’s. So why not in Forza?

Its a joke from Playground Games.
The Car is Not the Same without the Logos

It seems that some of the cars from the studio tour are debadged. Not just the BTTF DeLoreans, the Ford Probe from BTTF2, Magnum PI’s Ferrari 308 and Brian’s 2F2F Skyline are also debadged. Perhaps it’s a licensing issue on Universal’s end?

Even Rocket League has the badge and that’s been in the game for what, 10 years?

It also has a V8 sound, all 3 of them do that, despite that the specs in the game says that it has the same 2.8 liter V6 as the normal DeLorean does.
The normal Delorean has a v6 sound, which is correct though.

To be fair, that would be accurate to the movies. It surprises me it doesn’t have more power though. Doc Brown must have tuned or replaced the engine because it hits 88 mph on a parking lot and in residential streets. In the movie it sounds like a V8 and does a nice burnout before the 1st time travel. Even hits 65 mph in 1st or 2nd gear which proves it must have more power than the original engine in order to do that.

Yes, if the movie cars had a different engine, which they probably had, the specs should be different 2, like they are for the K.I.T.T Knight Rider car.

This may be due to the difficulties that DMC is currently going through, they’re experiencing significant Legal and Financial trouble as of late (and I believe some of that is due to who actually owns the rights to use the DMC/DeLorean name on cars).

Universal has the rights to the Time Machine as a “character” but not to any of the DeLorean or DMC branding.

Therefore it was likely easier to just implement the cars as Time Machines instead of DeLoreans as you wouldn’t have to go through DMC and wait for them to sort out their issues.

This is also likely why they’re under Universal Studios ingame and not DMC.
