I don’t see how I could have broken this skill chain by myself sitting perfectly still for several seconds in the middle of an open area. Unfortunately this has been happening A LOT. I figure something like this happens at least once an hour, maybe more. But this was the first instance where it was plainly clear the skill chain broke on its own - not because I hit a small rock, or a butterfly, or some other invisible hazard.
I used to think, perhaps erroneously, that the Super Wheelspins players received on Sunday were somehow to make up for some of the game bugs that cheated them during the week. So I didn’t get too upset when I got rooked every once in a while. I don’t expect everything to work perfectly all the time. But they seem pretty stingy about the Super Wheelspins down here in Mexico. And the frequency of these skill point losses is especially disheartening this early in the game when the points are so critical to advancing in the game.
I didn’t catch this in the other discussion topics, but hopefully the game creators are already working on it.
UPDATE 12/1/2021: It’s still happening. I watched my skill song points get dumped on November 30th while sitting perfectly still in the desert.
Player fails Skill Chain progress when disconnected from the network or when car randomly stops.
Its a known issue.
But please report it with as much info that you can. That will help them find the bug essayer.

Thanks Wet Chef! I’m not sure I would have found that or interpreted that description to be my problem if you hadn’t pointed it out. That’s quite a list. And really I feel bad for the folks that opted for the VIP. Based on the reviews, they’re really getting ripped off.
You’re obviously a long-time Forza player. Is this extent of problems a normal occurrence at release? I started H4 late and didn’t have a lot of problems with the game. I’m wondering if its better to sit this out for a few months. I was lured into starting H5 early with the promise of being able to collect all the cars. But that isn’t playing out very well at the moment.
Skill chains are always broken by standing still. FH4 is the same way. If your vehicle has the 2x break chain skill, it takes twice as long to break the skill chain while standing still but it still breaks.
I understand that the skill chain will “end” with inactivity. But in the whole time I’ve played Horizon games prior to this, I’ve never had it trash all my accumulated skill credit (as if I ran into a tree) while I was standing still, waiting for it to tally up the points.
