I noticed the first time I watched the Modern Sport Compact series intro that the Toyota GT86 featured in the video had a different sideskirt (which looks terrible, especially since the car doesn’t have any other matching parts), but I assumed it was one of the parts in the game.
But just a minute ago, while looking at the modifications for the GT86, I remembered the car in the intro, and decided to watch the intro video again.
After looking at the car shown in the intro and the parts available for it in the game, I noticed that the body kit shown in the intro isn’t available in Forza 5 at all.
Why does the intro video show something that isn’t actually in the game?
If you don’t like the kit in the video what difference does it make? Maybe the intention was to have it in game and they had to trash that idea at some stage, manufacturer licenses etc.
Yeah, it has the Toyota/Scion front end (and it’s not an aftermarket bumper.)
They have the same bodykits, anyway, so if it’s available for the BRZ, then it would be available for the GT86 as well.
I just thought it was odd that they didn’t take it out of the intro when they took it out of the game. And that they put it on the car in the first place; all the other cars are completely stock, but the GT86 has aftermarket sideskirts.
I’ve been known to only use a front bumper, or just a rear bumper if I don’t really care for rest of the kit. I’ve also been known to mix kits up, as I hardly ever like all the pieces of one brand of body kit. I’m far too picky on what I like or don’t. It’s very rare for me to actually use 100% of the same product on a car.
Just have to remember, not everyone is going to like the same things as others, or do what someone else would do
I also do this in real life. My driveway is very steep and would rip the front bumper off my supra if it wasn’t the stock one with a small lip. And my rear bumper is a different brand to the side skirts too
I do the same thing. Mix and match with what I like. I have not used side skirts at times, or sometimes just the front bumper. Everyone has their own style.
I wouldn’t read too deeply into it. If I recall correctly, the Modern Muscle one has James May talk about the 2007 Mustang while showing the 2010-2013 bodystyle. I’m under the impression that they are pretty much just tacked-on for entertainment purposes and not as detail-oriented as much of the rest of the game. I do find them enjoyable though, so they must be doing their job.
