"Unable to Join session"

Hi All - new user here. I am trying to solve an issue and spent several hours with XBOX one support and my ISP and have concluded that the issue is a forza 5 server problem, at least that is what i have been advised. This was after several insightful support strategies including re-booting and re-booting again, checking settings, clearing persistent storage and changing to an alternate mac address. My network settings are fine, internet and multiplayer connectivity are working fine, no packet loss, 78.86 download speed, 10.85 upload speed, NAT type is OPEN and strong wireless signal (88%) etc.

I continue to have issues and the resolution provided by XBOX was to was to contact Forza 5 via forzaafb@microsoft.com. I received an automated reply directing me to this forum for a solution. Is there no other level of support for this game?

2 issues are detailed below:

first issue: I cannot join a lobby on multiplayer. When attempting to join lobby, I receive message that I am “unable to join session”. This happened intermittently until recently and now I cannot join any lobby. Here are the steps i see - Request new match, setting party match session, finalizing/creating party match, then a request stating match request is complete, would u like to join a match, I answer OK, and then receive a response stating “unable to join match”.

Second issue: previously, when I was intermittently able to join on multiplayer, i was able to hear and be heard by other online users during a race. However, when invited to a party and chat, 2 others were unable to hear me and I was unable to hear them. I had to use my cell phone to hear one of the players. Both other users did not encounter this issue.

I have verified I am able to play and hear (and be heard) on other games, like Titanfall, by other online users.

Please help, any advisement much appreciated. I have spent countless hours spinning my wheels verifying open ports on my router and learning about the tech world more than I had hoped and still no resolution. thanks in advance for your support/comments.

First - I tried to join some multiplayer races on Sunday night and got the same error. I just assumed the servers were down and played some single player. I think this was a Turn 10 / Forza issue.

The second issue with party chat doesn’t have anything to do with Forza. I had that happen to me and I think it just required the hard re-boot. I forgot if that was the fix but one of the guys in the part told me over text how to do it and I haven’t had the problem since. We were playing GTA V I think at the time.

Has anyone come up with a solution for this?
Ive been having the same problem for 2 years now (I was never able to play online since I bought the game) and still no one can help me.

Xbox live claims it is a Turn 10 Issue, Turn 10 claims it is an xbox live issue.
I don’t care who’s fault is it, since I am a customer of BOTH Xbox Live and Turn 10, then it becomes their problem, BOTH OF THEM, they must resolve this issue together and stop throwing the ball to everyone else.
This is seriously messed up.
