Unable to download the demo : 0x80073CF9

Hi,

I’m currently facing some issues to download the demo.
After 16,7 MB I get a 0x80073CF9 error code. I’ve tried many things to solve the issue :

  • Reset Windows Store cache (wsreset) = non OK
  • Deleted SoftwareDistribution folder = non OK
  • Disabled antivirus software = non OK
  • SFC /scannow = non OK (in fact, nothing to fix)
  • Chosen a different drive for the WS Installer = non OK
  • Cleared temp files = non OK
  • Used the shell to type mystical Windows instructions = non OK

I can install others apps and update them. Windows updates are also installing without any problem.
What can I do ?

I dont even get a error message !
My Windows Store just keeps looping , installing …Starting download …over and over again.
I tried to install the Facebook app also just to see if it was load on the popular new Forza but that is now just looping the same way ??
Please help as i would love to try before i buy .

Those kind of error codes can be many things, here i found some sites with other solutions that you could try.

Method 1: Create the AppReadiness folder
Method 3: Give the Store access to the Packages folder

First option:

Press and hold the “Windows” button on the keyboard.
After you get to the start screen you will need to left click or tap on the “Windows Store” feature you have there.
After you get to Windows store you will need to press and hold the button “Windows” and the button “I”.
Left click on “App updates”.
Left click or tap on the “Sync licenses here”.
Let it do its job and reboot the Windows 8 or Windows 10 device.
Try to install the app or upgrade the app and see if you still have this error message appearing.

SecondLastJedi, in your case you might try following.

1 : The “Windows Store troubleshooter” in control panel of Windows…
2 : Open the command prompt as Administrator (cmd) and type “wsreset”
3 : You can also try to “Re-Register the Windows Store with PowerShell” (which is a bit technical)

Click Start, type “powershell”, right-click on the PowerShell icon in the search results, and then click “Run as administrator.” Click Yes to allow it administrative privileges.
Then copy and paste this exact code you see below.

“& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + ‘\AppxManifest.xml’ ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}”

That looks a bit scary ! Could that harm anything ?

WSReset does nothing ! still looping :frowning:

How can i even just stop it from downloading ? and maybe try another HDD or even my SSD ?

Try to install it on your OS Drive, mainly Drive C:

I have the same problem. I have tried every single advice on the Internet. Both drives, wsreset, softwaredistribution, troubleshooter, etc. Any other product from the store downloads and installs correctly. What do I do?

Similar problem but in my case, everytime I’m close to the game size, it adds 1 more Gb of download… [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] ? It starts on 22 Gb and now it’s 24.74 and everytime keeps growing ??? I even stopped the download, cancel it, and started again… and same problem ! Man, I’ve downloaded almost 100 gb for this DEMO and my internet is LIMITED in bandwidth, what’s going on MS ?? I want my bandwidth back, this it outrageous…

I’m back after a complete format of my PC. It’s currently downloading.
I was on a Windows 10 previously upgraded from a 8.1 version, so I think it was the time to move on and start fresh.
