In real life:
The Spring Rate measurement for the Imperial system is lb/in.
The Spring Rate measurement for the Metric system is kg/cm.
While Tuning:
The UI string for the Metric system reads kgf/mm.

Nope, it’s correct, the measurements for suspension are force/length.
kgf means kilogram of force, lbf means pounds of force.
If it was just kg than that would be a mass/length which would not be an appropriate figure to be useful for tuning.
