This problem has just recently starting happening. Whenever im racing my tv speakers crackle and sound as if theres some sort of distortion. Its not constant, it just seems to happen in short bursts. Ive tried so many things now but nothing seems to work. Ive used different HDMI leads/ports, ive changed audio settings in the game menu, ive tried different audio setups on the xbox one menu and ive tried different settings on the tv audio settings page but nothing seems to get rid of it. I got this game as a digital download and im now starting to think theres been a problem with the download or something. Has anybody else had this issue? It only seems to happen with forza. Ive played Ryse and Titanfall with no sound issues what so ever. I used to play my dvds through the xbox one with no issues either, other than the dialogue going out of sync, but thats another issue altogether.
Try to do a cold reboot of your system and see if that helps. Hold the button on the front of the Xbox One for 5 seconds and it will shut your system down. Wait till the box stops making noise, and start her back up.
This has cured the “crackle” for me. I still hear little pops every now and again, like the sound effects are peaking or “clipping,” but not the constant “crackle distortion.”
I know that it has to be something related to the way Forza codes the audio or something. Forza 4 did it too.
I am extreme audiophile. I am a musician by trade, I make my living with my ears. I also have a top of the line boutique audio system, complete with a hand built tube amplifier that I paid a pretty penny for. I am confident that it is not my system because I can push any other audio source as hard as I want without any ill effects, even other games. (Like you, I have tried numerous settings on the game, the Xbox One, and my audio system.)
I do not have this issue with any other game. I have even switched between the HDMI audio output and the Optical audio output from the Xbox One and it still does the same thing.
So, I really don’t have any solution other than cold rebooting your system and seeing if that helps at all.
I did this too, DTS works fine, no crackle on my old Parasound surround pre-amp. Dolby Digital will work usually, but the has burst of ‘crackle’. Im thinking its a clock issue wirh the xbox optical out.
i use official xbox headset with adaptor ( like turtle beach and completley awesome for blocking noisey trolls lol) however i still get sound issues like a static noise only in menus i try hard reset and still the same its not game breaker just annoying

Some of that crackling is engine sound effects. I think sometimes the playing sounds get stuck in a loop and continue causing distortion. It’s a weird coincidence, but i have the exact same fault on my toshiba TV with the dolby decoder. So it gets double amplified! It sounds awful. Hopefully they’ll fix it in a future update.
Whatever you’re audio setup, make sure there’s no “post processing” going on. A lot like how you want to keep all visual enhancements off on your HDTV in order to have the best performance with no lag.
If you are still getting those crackles and pops from the audio I have found a solution!!
The HDMI cord for some reason from the Xbox One to the TV somehow gets audio distortion with those pops and crackles,
BUT the solution I have found that doesn’t require doing a full reboot is to plug an optical cord from the Xbone into the TV
or any audio receiving source. My surround sound speakers were crackling and popping whenever there were loud sounds or
excessive bass. I did what I just mentioned and voila!! No more pops and crackles!
Though I do have to move my optical cord back to the TV whenever I am not using the Xbone…
Mine does it whenever I upgrade my car. Whenever I casually look for upgrade parts it just pops randomly. It had happened a lot with only this game. I have done hard resets and I know it’s not my hdmi or ports because other games including Forza 5 are flawless. This is a very bad issue that needs to be fixed soon.
