I like a challenge now and then and this definitely is one. I doubt I would bother if there was no special reward, even though RBW Triton is a constant nightmare on my leaderboards. But being a pad player it is already tough to keep up with those times and I consider myself a way above average driver. I might be able to beat the time but a lot of people are not - and IMO they deserve to get the same content as other players. Having better skills or better equipment should not be the deciding factor. I would just give out the car to everyone that comes within 107 % of Triton’s time and give it out with an exclusive livery to everyone that actually beats him. That way the car is more achievable yet still requires dedication and effort and those that are truly fast still get a special reward.

Isn’t this why they are called unicorn cars? They are supposed to be hard to get and limited. Equipment has nothing to do with it, most of the top players in this game use the ol xbox, and the regular pad that come with it. There is no disadvantage to a pad in this game.
On the other end of things, I don’t like things that are in the game that not everyone has a chance to earn. If the cars were given out for completing the career or doing x amount of online races etc. than i think they would be better suited, rather than beat this guy in this time period and get the car. They should just be hidden within the game and won for doing certain things not handed out directly as a result of something here on this forum. I am sure atleast 50% of players dont even know these forums exist.

Exactly! I payed the Ultimate edition and I honestly don’t mind having to invest some extra time to get an additional free car, like for example last month’s Can-Am Connection event to get the 312 P award. I’m a terrible driver at the moment due to injury but at least I could play that league for so many hours that eventually my few 100 points each race stacked up to over 10000 points and I ended up in the top 50% anyway. Now this week, it’s simply impossible for me to beat Triton’s time, that guy is obviously an amazing racer, all my respect for that. But as many other Forza players, I am not. I play this game for the fun of it, to experience all the cars at my own pace and level. I don’t even like tuning or tuned cars, in free play I drive in stock versions of cars all the time. I play against the AI on either above average level or highly skilled, that’s about my skill in this game (with the mod to start from 24th place and earn 50% extra credits). In leagues I’m in professional league (before my injury) which was already a bit hard for me since I used to end up at the bottom 50% more often than above it.
In the Can-Am Connection, 50% of the players won the car, three weeks in a row. That is basically 150% of the players that could win the car. That is fine, except you exclude everyone who doesn’t want to play leagues or multiplayer.
Now for the Aston, Triton is like top 7-8% on the leaderboards, that is brutal and his time will improve even more. Instead of 150% of the online players, only +/- 7% will get the car. That might be a very happy 7% but I also hope Turn10 realises that’s an unhappy 93%.
In the end I really do enjoy rival events, but from players near my own skill. Which currently is around top 75%, not top 7%, sigh. I certainly don’t enjoy being forced to chase down an expert racer’s time who is a whoppin’ 10 seconds faster than me if I want to get my hands on the Aston. Yes there are 2 other ways to get the car, congrats to the 105 lucky ones but the chance to be among them is even far smaller than 7%.
Forza 6 has a multitude of ways to play it, you can be a hotlapper, a multiplayer racer, a singleplayer racer, a painter, a tuner, a car collector, a completist who wants to finish the career 100%, etc etc. I’m a completist and car collector as well but I think my main way of fully enjoying Forza (before my injury) is not even any of that. I love to switch off all the asists, turn off everything from the HUD, and just cruise around a circuit like Nordschleife at my own pace, preferrably in an old convertible with the top down, put the sound from my home theatre really loud and just enjoy the experience. I guess I’m not a racer at all, more a driver.
When developers start to force you to play their game a certain way, that’s when things go downhill really fast. Just take a look at Real Racing 3 now and what a pile of garbage it’s become compared to several years ago. Now they roll out events to win cars where you can only play 1 stage of a 7-10 day long series per day. But if you don’t complete the entire series within the time frame, you’re lost out. Or this other thing they do where you can earn extra gold (HARD needed gold) by logging in every single day for a whole month. Forgot it one day? Only got 30 out of 31 days? To bad, no gold for you. It’s complete and utter garbage. Games are made for enjoyment, I should be the one who decides how and when to play it, not the devs.

I’d honestly rather them get rid of paid dlc and make us have to work for them. I guess these companies really do know their audience, people rather pay more money for something then spend an hour playing the game and actually achieving something. It truly is a sad time in gaming that it has come to this.

Thats not the issue, the issue is that people have payed $100+ for all content and there is still content withheld from the “deluxe edition”. It’s kind of a kick in the butt to think you have purchased all content and all future content just to be told here’s cars you can not have and must earn separately.
This is also true with the chrysulus(sp?) rocket, another additional dlc on top of already having payed for season pass, vip, etc.

I dont like dlc at all and I bought the ultimate edition as well but it’s how things are now. Maybe they jumped the gun by calling it the “Ultimate Edition” considering it won’t contain ALL dlc, but they never said it would contain all dlc. They let people know early on there would be a porsche expansion that wouldn’t be included, and now they obviously had a reason to add unicorns back. It could be for a number of reasons like adding some more player engagement in certain parts of the game like leauges. It could also be they’ve finished a few more cars and rather then hear people complain that these cars were available in past forzas and they shouldn’t have to pay to have them again, they’ve decided to give them away for free. I think that’s the key word here is that they are free, all you have to do is complete whatever objective they give for that car. People spend hours trying to unlock some worthless achievement badge, but they can’t spend some time unlocking a car it’s just asinine. Maybe people don’t remember games before dlc existed, but back in the old days you had to work for things. Play the game, get a free car.

I felt this way too, a few weeks ago. But as the mediocre player I am with the limited amount of time to play, I understand why some are upset. The earliest access to this digital toy car is likely being limited to a few hundred of the best players, and another hundred lucky people.
I’m happy for the people who already have the talent, as well as the people who have the time to dedicate to earning it. But there’s a point where it starts to feel like a grind, and turns me off to the idea of unicorn cars.
We all purchased our various levels of content and got what we paid for. This is additional free content that is available to everyone that can earn it. One way is to beat his time (skill required), another is to guess his time (limited “skill” required to come up with an estimate), and who knows how many opportunities will be in the future from the Unicorn Saint.
Something for everyone; I don’t see a problem with that.

It might be a bit tricky to get them at the moment but a couple of months down the line it’ll be “comment on this thread get a unicorn of your choice”, same as it was the last times round.
I really don’t get people who complain about not being able to get what amounts to extra content. You originally received the content you paid for. Unicorn cars are extra content that you have to work for. If you’re not able to get it for one reason or another,too bad. And for the poster who wanted to reward those that came within 107%. What if I finished at 108%? Why should I get hosed? The bar is set. If you can’t achieve it oh well. You miss out on one car that 98% of the folks playing will miss out on. I’m sure I’ll not be fast enough to get it
either. It certainly won’t upset me.
You can please some of the people some of the time…

so i just relized that the car from january was a unicorn car 
When i saw it before on the forums i scrolled passed it and saw get a numberd ferrari 312, and thought it was just the t2 with a new paint like they have been doing for 2+ years. its my falt because i just saw it briefly and didnt read the whole thing. for some reason i was on the feed for forza 6 and saw the picture of the 312 p and my jaw droped. im soo stupid. im really pissed that i missed out on getting that car. im sure they will give people another chance at geting it but what if its like this months bounty and i can beat the driver.
. This is why i spent 115$(canadian) on the ULTIMATE edition, so i would not miss out on anything. they should hav said befor the game came out that there will be cars that are not included in this edition and prep people for unicorn cars. im just upset at myself and turn 10 that im missing out on cars. i really want that ferrari. unicorn cars should have been talked about more before. im sure that lots of people that dont come to the forums didnt even know about this car. i asked a few friends and they had no idea. i dont even remember it being a featured news message in the game that would stay there all month and remind you.
Once again it is my falt that i missed out on januarys car, it just sucks that it has to be that way.

Pretty sure the description of the ultimate pack says everything that it does includes
Cant tell you what it doesn’t if its something that hasnt been decided on yet
Ultimate means the best pack of which it was
Does mean includes everything available
I bought the ultimate too full well knowing it wouldn’t include everything such as the porsche pack and all the dlc packs that come once the car pass is completed
