Turn 10 please fix the way cars handle when drifting

has anyone ells had trouble with drifting RWD on forza 5. if you think about it the way cars handled whilst drifting in forza 4 was more accurate than the way they handle in forza 5. when you are drifting a real car the don’t behave as unpredictable as forza 5. please do something to fix the cars counter steering ability like have and upgrade where you can increase the steering angle. i haven’t seen anyone on forza 5 drift as well as the average person on forza 4. but if anyone has a skyline, corvette or RX7 that drifts and is actually controllable please let me know

How much time have you put into drifting on FM5.
It takes getting used to but I feel that the physics are the closest thing to real they have ever had.
You can feel body roll and weight transfer and you can really feel the grip.

Put the time into it and you will be rewarded.
There is plenty of people out there drifting just as well as previous forzas, it does take time though.

It took me a week of drifting at least to get used to it and another two weeks to get good at it and only within the last week have I been having a great time doing drifting and tandems.

Turn 10 please disregard his request, lol.

Cars on FM5 handle amazingly well, and I drift just as well as I did on FM4. However Pounder is correct, there is a sizable learning curve. You’ll have to put the time in. DIS Swirly and myself both have some tunes out there, search DIS in the description. You can try one of them and see if the problem may lie in your tuning. Either way, don’t give up and ask them to revert the physics backwards, you have to elevate to the new physics.

after a few days of getting use to it i feel its more controllable with throttle as opposed to fm4.
in fm4 i found i was holding the accelerator trigger flat the whole time and steering like a boss lol
where as fm5 i control the car heaps more with throttle,
could be just the way i drift or the vibrating triggers but im drifting well after some practice

Don’t Believe Me Just Watch <<<<<<<<<(Click Me) Me drifting like i did in Forza 4

Wow! Nice job Swirly!

I am completely new to gaming and Forza and I am extremely impressed with what folks have been able to learn (and do) as far as drifting, designs, tuning and so on. I have only played for several weeks and have ONE perfect drift yet with an untuned car. I have to get a couple of tunes to try out and have some fun while I keep learning. I have the RX8 and you’ve got me excited about getting the RX7.

maybe it is just me but i dont know i have tried everything i can thing of the get the car to counter steer. or to get the car to handle like my tunes on fm4

if anyone can help me please do feel free to send me a friend request i would like to learn from some one that can get more than 50,000 drift points in one lap on Bernese alps …and i can only get 45,000 on that track and it makes me feel like i cant drift for #### lol PLEASE HELP ME

I cant help you with points because im a tandem drifter. I do points to make money lol but honestly points is not drifting to me. If you want im willing to help you but not with points drifting.

Disregard just realized the guy posted it 8 months ago.

It’s the physics dude. That can be solved by putting in some seat time on forza. Just play and you’ll get better and better.

The Physics are top notch in my opinion. yea cars can be a handful at times. As Chunky Brother said “in fm4 i found i was holding the accelerator trigger flat the whole time and steering like a boss lol” i have done the same and if you do that on FM5 you will either be spinning in a cloud of smoke or burying the car into a barrier.
just take some time to learn the car, perfect and constantly tweak your tune and you will be well away.
im still getting used to it and im slowly getting better.
just keep at it

It’s preference really… the responsiveness in the steering movement is really poor, but some people like that. I don’t like the drifting in 5 do to that reason; however the throttle control and suspension is better than 4 by tenfold.

I prefer the physics in FM5. As, so it seems, does everyone else. Takes getting used to, but enough seat time (controller time?) and it’s easy enough to learn how the cars react to driver inputs, in order to control them.

Definitely not your driving though. Nope. Never. That’s impossible. Of course the game is wrong. Hope they fix it just for you, buddy.

(I might be getting bored of reading threads like this complaining about the physics…)

I think the physics of this game are amazing. RWD drifting in this game can get difficult. It does take time and practice like others have said. Something that might help on car set up is to stay around 500 hp, usually A class, get max grip on tires like race tires and the widest ones, do about -3 negative camber in the front and keep the back the way it is, +3 to out in the front and -1 to in in the rear, and stiffen the suspension all the way. That’s the way i have it on my cars, evo IV, skyline r34, gt86, and rx7. It works pretty good but still takes time to learn. Hope this helps and stay sideways my friends.

One thing that will help make your car more predictable is fine tuning your differential, and not just doing 100% acceleration and deceleration. That’s what I’ve found to be the biggest issue, as well as front to rear tire size. A car with huge tires in the rear compared to the front might feel more unpredictable than one with close to the same size.

If you still need some help let me know.
