Do any of you guys think it’s possible to get a (D class) Boss 302 down to a 1:39 time at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca? I know that a tune will only go so far, but if anyone has any experience with these types of cars, and have any tuning tips… it would be much appreciated.
The mini is too good around the corners. Highly unlikely unless maybe one of the elite drivers gets it done. It doesn’t appear the elan has made much headway there so I doubt any rwd with weight will do anything fancy there.
You’re better off tuning the car for tracks where you can take advantage of acceleration and the turns aren’t too technical
With that car in D-Class I’m unsure. I know in the real world, the Mazda Miata Cup cars that race at LAguna Seca and lead the pack run around the 1:39 mark. These cars are definitely not in D-Class. I haven’t been on the FM5 leaderboards for a while and not in D Class for sure.
RPM Swerve referencing “other elite drivers” and the Lotus Elan makes me wonder it may not be possible. I think he is a very good driver and I do listen to his advice. If you’d like I can take a pause from FH2 tomorrow evening and see what I can put together on a D Class Boss 302 for LAguna Seca if you’d like.
Hey, that would be great. Right now the quickest time is a 1:43(not my time)
I know I couldn’t push the Mustang that fast. Maybe it’s possible for some of the really, really fast racers. I’d look for TPR, or ERS club members to give it a run, they might be able to.
If you do want to run a 1.39 I would look to a different D Class car, or more reasonably, a different car class.
I was somewhat interested on trying it, threw rough build together, and went for testing. and was 6 seconds short of the requested time.
If i would give that tune to some of the really good drivers he could possibly get it up to 1.44,xx 1.43.xx
Then I checked the replay of that mustang holding that 1.43.xx time and came in to conclusion that if we get one of the top 10 guys driving and tune that suits him we could probably shave it down to 1.42.xx possibly even mid 1.41. range, but that’s about as high as it goes.
Taking a look at the leaderboard, there is only 1 car which isn’t a mini, it’s Lotus Elan,
Only 12 people who have taken mini around that track under 1.38.000
Only 143 people who have got under 1.40.000
I don’t really think that you could get that mustang that high.
Hmmm… What’s the build options. This sounds like a superfluous challenge that I might try! Lol
I guess that’s my time on the leaderboard which I did during multiplayer so hotlapping should bring this further down. I think low 1.43 or high 1.42 is possible with this tune. A real pro driver maybe can achieve a 1.41 but I doubt it.
As for build options, have a look at Roadrunners El Camino D class tune. I pretty much followed his tune.
BTW thanks to Roadrunner, I think he provided one of the best tunes and I learned a ton about tuning studying this open source tunes.
Merry Christmas to a all of you Forza fanatics
