Tuning question about the Lexus LC500 and cars like it

So this week I’ve dedicated to running the LC500 in S class and tonight it did not start well. Brutal first 3 races. 6th to 13th, then 4th to 8th, and then 7th to 10th. In my defense it seems to be improving lol.

One of the things I’m hating is the 9 speed gear box. I just feel like I’m ripping tires like crazy in the first 3-5 gears and im just wondering…

Would i be missing out on very much performance if i just ignored 2-3 gears and treated it like a 6-7 speed? I feel like it would make my life simpler.

I don’t use TCS and never will no matter how awful it makes me haha. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve turbo charged this thing into a rocket. I wonder if it would help if i dropped the turbo. That will probably be my go to if dropping gears isn’t advisable.

I pass with ease on straights, but from mid corner onward until 4th-6th gear im just overheating tires. Maybe AWD would help?

Honestly you would probably gain performance by ignoring some gears. I usually run a maximum of 7 gears, and most of the time I’m really only using five. Spend less time shifting and more time staying on the throttle, I say. That Lexus will need everything it can get going for it to have a decent time in S class

The only thing I can say is that this car have too low grip for s class, looking at values u have now grip on level of a class, and this car is just too heavy.

Good way to check if your car have enough grip is to look at power to weight ratio, for balanced cars u need handling at level of 20 × pwr(in kw/kg)

So in case of your car with pwr at level of 0.436 u would need handling Index at level of 8.72 (basically p class car grip levels)

Usually cars in s class have around 6-6.5 handling and 0.3-0.35 kw/kg

Or u can just turn this car into power build for tracks like Daytona or le mans, tho u would still be at disadvantage due to weight and lack of downforce.

Just ignore the stats and numbers and do what feels right.

Make it so you reach the topspeed in the end of the 6th gear and done.

You can run out the final so that its maximum velocity (v-max) is hit before it hits top gear, essentially turnjng it into a vehicle with fewer gears. This can be beneficial for tracks likee mans and nurburgring as when on the long straight you can then put into top gear to save on fuel significantly.

You can also give yourself ‘half gears’. Tune it for 7 gears but if theres a corner or two that you would want some extra torque coming out or going through you can set one of the gears specifically for that corner(s). This will be track specific and wont be a generalist build
