Trolli Peel P50: Code only for Xbox and not available for Steam players?

Next promotion. CODE. IN. THE. BAG. OR. BOX.

Unfortunately, when it’s done that way, people have a tendency to just take a picture of the code without purchasing product and redeeming it, therefore making it useless to the next person to actually purchase the product.

Okay, so let’s say hypothetically you were a Playstation devout but still wanted to get the Trolli Peel P50:

Step Juan: aquire code for promotion

Step B: transfer code from an xbox code to a steam code

Step III: go to Costco and buy a gaming PC (may need to get a membership if you dont already have one)

Step 4: buy and download forza horizon 6 on steam, download trolli peel and add to you game. Make sure you play for fewer than 2 hours so you can refund the game

Step :hand_with_fingers_splayed:t6:: refund forza horizon 6 on steam and return PC to Costco for full refund

Step six: wait until forza horizon 6 launches on playstation

Step 6.9 (nice): link your playstation account with your xbox account that already has the peel

I don’t think this super convoluted way is any better though.

Yep, definitely hasn’t been the best experience as a consumer for quite a few reasons.

It’s not that complicated. Buy the product, upload your receipt, receive the code. Done.

Proof of purchase is required in a lot of promotions like this, not all, but a lot.

Still too many steps involved for my liking, especially compared to how promotions used to be. Used to be that you bought the item, put the code into Xbox Live Marketplace, and it was yours.

Now you have to buy the item, take a picture of your receipt with some of your private information on it, email it, a human then has to read your receipt and approve it, email you again with the code, and then you go to the Microsoft Store for the exchange. The fact that another person has to be involved alone is completely unnecessary, especially since the human has the choice to reject it.

If you include personal information on your picture of your receipt and not block it out, that’s on you, not the people who made the promotion.

Point is, they shouldn’t even be asking for receipt. Also, they mentioned nothing about blocking out private information, because I wasn’t sure if blacking out a receipt automatically disqualified your application.

Just got an email. My application was rejected, claiming it was unreadable. I assume this was because I took a picture of it using an iPhone, and they’re computers aren’t set up to read the iPhone photo format. Mind you, this promotion did not specify what kind of picture format to send.

Why not?

It’s not like it isn’t common to prove you purchased the item you are using to enter in the promotion. It’s a fraud reduction tactic.

They don’t need your private information to email the code so I see no reason for it to equal automatic disqualification. I can understand needing name and email address, but other than that, they shouldn’t need things like where the item was purchased or last few numbers of a card that was used to purchase the item like you would normally see on a retail receipt.

It’s entirely possible the picture came through blurry. Especially if it was compressed for size restrictions in the email.

So I get punished for something that was completely out of my control?

Just retake the picture and send it again, making sure it’s readable. It’s not a punishment and in the end, the car itself isn’t any different from the standard Peel other than the name and paint, which, I can guarantee someone will recreate within a month of the game being launched.

It’s really not a big deal.

Forgive me if I’m upset because I spent money to participate in this badly planned promotion. And if anything, this whole experience and how bad the final prize is just validates why this overcomplicated “fraud protection” strategy is beyond ridiculous.

Seeing this “Promo” exclusive for the USA makes me think about cancel my preorder. I am sitting in Europe and I cannot get that car. There a currently listings on eBay for about 123,35 Euro up to 241,96 Euro (142,74 to 280,– US $).

I managed to get the FH5 Promos for about 5-8 Euro per item.

If I know right from the start I cannot get every car in the game how long I play there is no sense to get the game at all…

I am really disappointed right now!

That’s great, I’m really happy for you :+1:

Hopefully yours comes soon if not already.

After seeing your email back and forth I wasn’t holding out hope tbh

Yea, as somebody with ocd it literally pains me when i cannot get a complete collection. I stopped playing fh5 when i skipped 1 week to play starfield when it came out thinking i could just buy that weekly car in the auction house. But i couldnt find the abarth 124 even for 20m. So i went ‘well, if i cant have every car then ill just stop’
