Triple Screen in FM7?

Inside Sim Racing’s E3 report after interviewing Dan Greenawalt about Forza on the PC says “triple screen support, he said no, it sounds like the same deal as Forza Horizon 3 was where it goes and stretches the screen across all three.”

He said triple screen is going to be the same deal as FH3. That means it does have triple screen for PC, just implemented in a lazy way.

Today’s news (8/20/17) say Forza 7 on PC will have ‘support for multiple monitors’. Does this still mean just one flat image support like now or does this mean true triple screen support like Forza on the Xbox 360 had?

Forza Horizon 3 does support Triple Screen so I think it means Forza Motorsport 7 will as well.

No FH3 is just one flat image across 3 screens which is not 3 individual view points which is required for true triple screen support. Otherwise the side screens image is stretched. Forza on Xbox 360 had true triple screen support while Forza on Xbox One and PC never has. T10 has shown off a show only rig that had true triple screen support before, but it was never made available to the public.

But ALL my games are stretched like that on the side screens (Update to clarify: my center screen is not stretched and maintains the proper aspect ratio; only the side screens appear somewhat stretched). I’ve played franchises from Tomb Raider, NFS, newer COD games, Hellblade, you name it. I thought the stretching on the sides was supposed to be there to provide a more realistic perspective for seeing things from a peripheral point of view. This is the first time I’ve heard of this whole concept of “3 individual view points” or “3 individual cameras”. What games out there actually support this with no stretching on the side monitors whatsoever?

How can an Xbox 360 (or an Xbox One for that matter) support multiple screens? Those consoles only have one HDMI output.

On current gen of consoles none do. Xbox360 did with Forza and PS3 with Gran Turismo (required 3 consoles and games)

On PC the driving games are Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2, iRacing, Race Room Racing Experience, Live For Speed, American Truck Sim, Euro Truck Sim. All of them support true triple screen which means no stretched side screens like Forza has now.

Using Ethernet cables, you could network 3 Xbox 360’s together with 3 copies of Forza 4. Then on one of the Xboxes, you enable multi-screen support and the other Xboxes will boot into Forza 4. They will share their processing power to render 3 completely different FOV’s of the same scene.

I believe Forza 4 would let you do up to 10 screens at once. Of course that also means you needed 10 Xboxes, 10 TV’s or monitors, and 10 copies of Forza 4 :stuck_out_tongue:

Yikes… seriously, YIKES. I mean, I guess in theory it’s a cool feature, but I can’t see many people in the real world actually buying and hooking up multiple XBoxes to support the 3 screen option, let alone going up to 10 XBoxes/screens. At any rate, thanks for enlightening me on this, erm… hardcore feature. :stuck_out_tongue:

In the specs for Forza 7 PC that Turn 10 released on 8/20, it said the PC version will have ‘support for multiple monitors, 21:9 displays and numerous peripherals’, but the PC demo only supports 21:9 displays and has no adjustments for multiple monitors like screen angle so the side screens are stretched. Was this just a poorly worded article or is the release version going to have real triple screen support?

It is a crying shame that such a beautiful game with 700 cars that have fully modeled interiors does not support true triple screen. Turn 10 certainly has the budget, manpower and know how to do it as they have done it before in FM2-4 and a FM6 E3 show rig. Will it ever get put in or am I wasting my time hoping it will?

Haven’t looked into it but i’d imagine that they’re going to be tweaking it all the way to the release time, and they’d rather put out something that works and demonstrates (demo, get it?) what the game has to offer rather than putting out some hack job that could put negative opinions into the minds of the kind of people who are enthusiastic enough about a game to play a demo for a game that isn’t even out yet.

They’ve said that not everything will be available at launch (framerate higher than 60, for example), i’m sure they just want to make sure the features are perfectly hammered out before being released. Personally, i’m just ecstatic that a franchise i’ve loved since the first title is finally coming to PC where there just isn’t anything like it. Give them time, they don’t have a track record of making bad games.

The Demo is not representative of the full game, There are lots of features that where cut from the demo.

I sure hope you are right. Inside Sim Racing and a few forum posters have claimed triple screen support is confirmed, but I have never heard this from T10 themselves so not buying until I know for sure.

Did they add triple monitor support in the demo? I can’t find it

How do I set the resolution to 21:9 in this game? There is no option in the menu even though my desktop resolution is set 5760x1080 with nvidia surround. I thought FM7 supported triple screens?

I can can confirm Triple Screen and 21:9 Ultrawide are supported in both Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7.

In order to select the Triple Screen or 21:9 Ultrawide resolutions in Forza Motorsport 7 Demo you need to select a Resolution of “Native Window Resolution” in the Video Options.

settings native resolution does indeed work for triple screen However there one problem, its not true triple screen support whatsoever!! The left and right screens are just completely stretched. Im using triple 1080p resolution bezel corrected at 6008x1080. Even tried the default 5760x1080. Same problem…

I doubt Forza 7 is going to have a proper triple screen support where you can calibrate each monitor seperately for a CORRECT VIEW, but well just have to wait and see

It does not have triple screen support! Wish people would quit claiming that it does. It has wide screen 21:9 support only. Triple screen support would mean settings to make the side screens not stretched which Forza has not had since Forza 4.

True triple screen support means that the game engine uses 3 different cameras (1 for each screen) to render a separate FOV for each screen.

What FH3 and FM7 has is a single FOV simply stretched across a single desktop that spans 3 monitors. This is NOT triple screen support.

I know it is not triple screen support like other games, but it looks fine to me.

Here are the steps to get it working:

  1. Setup your desktop as one large continuous display spanning all 3 monitors.

  2. In the video options, set RESOLUTION to Native Window Resolution and FULLSCREEN to ON.
