So i used to drift on FM5 alot, than was drifting on FH2 alot more and im trying to get the hang of drifting again and i cant do it to save my life, transitioning is especially difficult, any tips would be great, thanks in advance.
Practice haha. It’s not fun having to transition back as FH2 is a lot more forgiving but the more you stick at it the better you will get. I would say stick with one car and try to nail that down so that you are comfortable in it before moving to others
Thanks! im finding the s15 the easiest, its mainly transitiong turn to turn that screws me because the car wants to spin or go super backwards into the dirt or wall.
what ive noticed in FM5m is that transitions become a lot easier when you let off the gas for about a second between transitions i know that was a big thing i had to get used to when starting on this installment of forza…
Using a wheel does make a big difference in transitioning as it allows you to transition much more aggressively unlike on a roller, but you don’t need a wheel to be good. There are roller drifters out there who can keep up with wheel drifters because most of the cars used for drifting are more balanced with each other (excluding a few of the OP cars like the Corvettes and Shelby Cobras). It’s all just a matter of practice.
Well the tuning of a car can make a huge difference as well. I just put up a post about tuning that referenced an old thread from the drifting lounge for Forza 4. The physics have changed but tuning can be done almost the same with a few, minor changes. Getting back into the drifting scene for Forza 5 can be daunting but with a correct set up and practice, you can do better. Personally, I like drifting a 2015 Mustang GT which has just under 500 HP, I believe at 499 or possibly right at 500 HP and I used the same system I put in my post. This will help keep your car a little more solid and I use the “roller” as well so you can defiantly get some good angles but lines are a little harder to “hold” since it’s not an actual wheel.
Amazing, no one answers the questions they just add more questions to the questions. Tunes / HP ? makes no different if you don’t have the ability to stop your external rotation and you don’t even need a tune to do it… you just need the basics the practice and learn to anticipate and control its that simple…
