Toyota Celica Sport Specialty II ‘03 - Inaccurate, Deformed and Outdated Car Model

If there is any vehicle model in FORZA that looks just as horrible as the S15 Silvia, then it would be the 2003 Toyota Celica SS-II (GT-S with Action Package in North America).

Aside from the ridiculous name in game, the “current” car model has been in sue since the original FORZA MOTORSPORT from 2005. That is right - another 20-year old car model!

The car has an extremely deformed look with no uniformity and alignment of its body sections.

The front bumper is erroneously shaped and lifted a the inaccurate slope of the hood only contributes to the horrible front end. The headlight are not only incorrect in size and spacing, but they do not follow the curvature of the front end like the IRL vehicle. Not to mention, the atrocious textures of the headlights themselves.

The length and width of the wheelbase are extremely inaccurate, creating that skinny kit car look. The terribly modeled side windows, which are incorrect in height, length and angle from the roof.

The characteristic belt line design going from the front doors to the rear taillights are supposed to be higher and match the angle and line of the side windows. This signature line is much sharper and defined on the actual car.

It is what determines the full shape of the vehicle. The bumpers and side skirts are hideously shaped and are nowhere near the accuracy of the actual car.

To make matters worse, the roof has a very unusually high and bubbly shape that is not reminiscent of the real car, which has a raked, angled and low roofline.

The rear taillights and the rear end is much skinnier than the actual car. The inaccurate size and spacing of the taillights coupled with the horrendous roofline, rear trunk and rear bumper and you have this mess.

Request to fully laser scan and model the 2003 Toyota CELICA SS-II (or GT-S with Action Package in North America).

While you are at it, please fix the model name! It’s Celica SS-II.

If they were to redo the modelling, I hope they use this grade.

What’s wrong with JDM cars made by Japanese automakers being labeled with Japanese model names?

Because they not used correct Japanese model name?

The grade name in Japan is “SS-2.” Therefore, although the current name is a bit long, it is not a big problem.

I interpreted this as him asking to have everything converted to North American spec, i.e. to change the SS-2 to “GT-S with Action Package”.
I have no idea about the 「GT-S with Action Package」, but I think it was called “SS-2 Super Strut Suspension Package” in Japan.

If you read his entire post, the main theme of his argument is changing the Celica to North American specifications. Unfortunately, the elimination of JDM is something that Forza has been actively promoting in recent years, so it’s a good trend for him, but it’s a big problem for me.

The request is to accurately scan and remodel the 2003 Toyota Celica SS-II OR the GT-S with Action Package.

That’s why the brackets and the word “OR” are there, in case it is difficult for the vehicle team to source the Japanese model.

Never mentioned that Japanese specs be removed or converted. Please try to read and understand first before making assumptions.

Please understand the T10 and PGG thought patterns properly.
If you say “RHD or LHD”, they will choose LHD without hesitation and say “your request has been granted”.
Therefore, if you want RHD or JDM, you need to be very clear about it.
If you are not clear about your request, they will assume that you want LHD.
“Either is fine” means LHD, or North American specification, to them.

If we say we want RHD, they choose UK spec and don’t choose JDM.
If you want Japanese-spec you have to make it very clear that you want JDM.
They try to avoid JDM wherever possible.
This is the thought pattern of T10 and PGG.
