TORA TCR Production Car Championship presented by CRA

Racing and Driving Etiquette:

The TCR Production Car Championship is a non-contact sport. But, some contact is expected or unavoidable. If you feel that you have been involved in intentional contact whereby you have lost ground in the race, please take 5 minutes to file a Report within 48 hours whereby the Stewarding team will privately review it and decide what action is taken,

We expect each and every competitor that attends at any of the championship meetings to behave and communicate in a respectable manner to every single competitor, Steward and Race Marshall. If you feel a comment may be offensive, hurtful, or unnecessary then please don’t say it at all.

Track Limits:

The track limits are determined by the solid white lines either side of the track. At all times, two wheels must remain on this part of the circuit, unless of an occurrence where it is near to impossible to keep two wheels on the track, like avoiding a collision. During a race meeting, each time the track limits are not adhered to, a warning will be given. Each driver will be allowed five warnings of all four wheels leaving the track via the inside of a corner, at any part of the circuit. If a sixth and subsequent “corner cutting” occurrences happen within a race meeting, then that driver will lose a position for each corner cut. Again, if a corner is cut to avoid a collision, this would not be given a warning.

The track limits must be adhered to in the event of gaining an advantage whilst having an on-track battle. If a driver overtakes a driver by getting all four wheels off the track, the driver must give that position back before they may continue the race. If the driver which was overtaken backs off heavily either through incident or “mechanical” failure, then the position will not need to be given back.

If at any point you leave the track, you must wait for a chance to return, at NO point may a driver return to the track into oncoming traffic.

Driver and Team Entry Rules:

You have the option to be a team of two drivers, or a single privateer entry. The TCR Production Car Championship will have the use of Two championships. These championships are: Team and Privateer, as well as an individual Drivers championship.

There will be no allowed Car Changes after initial Sign Up. Once you have signed up with your team and completed your first Qualifying/Race, you are then ‘locked-in’ with your choice and current Driver line up for the remainder of the series, however a new driver may be added to a spare seat in a team entry if they have not yet competed. Privateer entries may only become a team entry IF the original Privateer driver and the added driver(s) have not yet completed a round.

Championship Scoring:

Drivers Championship: All drivers are by themselves when earning these points. The points will be scored starting at 200 for first place and then subtract two point for every position down.

Teams Championship: This championship is to determine the team with the most points at the end of the season.

Privateers Championship: This championship will be run for drivers that decide to enter as privateers. Whichever driver is in that car for that race scores points for the privateer championship.

Substitute Drivers: For the length of the entire series, a team may make use of a substitute driver if a full time driver cannot make a meeting. This substitute driver is eligible to score points for the drivers championship, and towards the point for the team they are driving for that meeting. A team has a maximum of 2 substitutes per season. Any further substitutes, and the replacement driver will not score points for the team they are driving for. Substitute drivers must be made aware to the series runners before commencing the race meeting itself.

A substitute driver can come from an existing team, privateer, or any other friend. A substitute driver may only score points for the team they are driving for in any particular race, and must remain in a single car/team for an entire race meeting.

To register a substitute driver, please sign them in to the designated sign-in thread with the correct information, for example: “Driver A [Sub For] Driver B”

2008 Dodge Viper SRT10

The American Club Racing (ACR) model was introduced in 1999. This model had suspension and engine enhancements focused on maximizing performance in road racing and autocross environments. Horsepower was, by the use of K&N air filters and smooth intake tubes, bumped to 460 hp (370 kW) in these models, while torque increased to 500 lb·ft (678 N·m). Weight was reduced by over 50 pounds (23 kg) by stripping the interior and removing other non-essential items such as the fog lamps (replacing them with brake ducts). The new stiffer, adjustable suspension removed another 14 pounds (6.4 kg) These models, which also have engine and handling modifications, has an “ACR” badge and 20-spoke BBS wheels.

A new ACR was added to the Viper line-up after the 2008 model year. Its upgrades were more drastic than the original, including street-legal racing tiresTemplate:Michelin Pilot Sport Cups which Michelin describes as “Ultra-High Performance Sport tires”, two-piece brake rotors, adjustable suspension, and significant aerodynamic revision. No engine modifications were made, so power and torque remain at 600 hp (450 kW) and 560 lb·ft (760 N·m) as in the standard SRT-10. The ACR is street-legal, and is similar to the MOPAR Viper that Dodge displayed at various auto shows. Weight was also decreased by 40 lb (18 kg) by using the “Hardcore Package”, without AC, radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, hood pad or tire-inflator. Its aerodynamic upgrades produce up to 1000 pounds (4.45 kN) of downforce at 150 mph (240 km/h), or roughly 10 times the downforce the standard Viper SRT-10 can produce at the same speed. The interior was upgraded only by the addition of a beacon-tripped lap timer (Hardcore Edition Only).

The Viper ACR was built alongside the standard SRT-10 at the Conner Avenue plant in Detroit. The aerodynamic components were produced by Plasan Carbon Composites and assembled to the vehicle by Prefix Corporation located in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

On September 14, 2011, on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, a 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR completed the sixth fastest production, street-legal car lap ever recorded with a 7:12.13 elapsed time. Chrysler’s press release claimed a new production car lap record, although three faster laps had been recorded more than two years earlier, albeit by very specialized low production vehicles.

2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport

The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car by the Chevrolet division of General Motors (GM) that has been produced in seven generations. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette is currently manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is the official sports car of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

A Corvette has been used as the Indianapolis 500 pace car 12 times.

The historical name Grand Sport returned to the Corvette lineup in 2010 as an entirely new model series that replaced the Z51 option. The new model was basically an LS3 equipped Z06 with a steel frame instead of aluminum. It retained many of the features of the Z06 including a wide body with 18x9.5 and 19x12 inch wheels, dry sump oiling (manual transmission only), 6-piston 14" front brakes and 4-piston rear, improved suspension, and front carbon fiber fenders. Manual power train equipped G/S models receive a tweaked LS3 with a forged crank, are built in Z06 fashion by hand, and utilize a dry-sump oil system. A new launch control system was introduced for all models that allows for sub 4 second 0-60. EPA estimated 26 MPG highway, 1.0 G on skid pad.
