Top 100 times on every track...

Hey all, just wondering what the opinions are on this subject. I’ve been spending a lot of time looking at forzastats lately. Mostly the D class rankings. I noticed something that I thought was rather odd. There are only 2 players in all of D class that have top 100 times on every track (52 is the max since it doesn’t count Laguna for some reason). While I didn’t look all the deeply at the other classes, this seems to be roughly the case for those too.

Just has me wondering… Is it because its a much harder feat than I realize, or do many of the top players just not care enough? I know in my case, I’m simply not good enough and there are certain tracks that I doubt I will ever break the top 100 on. So, getting them all is virtually impossible for me. However, some of these players are incredibly good and yet they are still missing several times in each class.

I know its a silly question, but inquiring minds and all that… Just figured I’d throw it out there and see what people think.

They probably don’t care or did it long ago but had a few times drop out.

You would see more in previous forzas because there were a bunch of people shooting for in game overall leaderboard completion but since those leaderboards were removed for some stupid reason, there’s little point in forcing yourself to do well on tracks you may not care for.

I find it too boring to even bother with running all the tracks. And as Swerve stated there is no overall leaderboard anymore so there is not really any point.

I ask out of ignorance, but doesn’t forzastats more or less make up for the lack of an overall leaderboard in game?

What was different about the in game one versus forzastats?

Well for one it was in the game and would update instantly. So it was easier to check and everyone knew about it.

Forzastats is awesome but it only updates every 24 hrs, laguna seca doesn’t register for some reason. It is ran by a solo guy so he has to handle any problems or updates himself. I appreciate he even takes the time to run it but it should be in the game.

Not every one even knows it exists tho. A friend of mine who runs top-25s 50s in multiple classes doesn’t come here and didn’t even know forzastats existed lol. So it kinda limits the competition as well.

Also it only counts times in the top 500 I believe.

Laguna Seca doesn’t display on the web-leaderboards here on fm.net either (Forza.net: The official website of the Forza franchise - available and functional, but no mention of it or links to it anywhere else here on the site), so it’s not the ForzaStats guy’s issue.

@ubesix — The key comment, though, is: “so there is not really any point.”

In general - not directed at or necessarily related to anyone posting around here - unless one receives some sort of accolades / bragging rights, Gamers tend not to do something just for the sake of doing it, or for self-satisfaction. So, without a highly visible “Here Are The Best Players In The Game” feature, well, you get the point.

True why bother? It’s like the attitude T10 had when developing F5 lol jk … kinda…

I was top 100 in every c class track. It became monotonous try to say in the top 100. Heck theres 15 tracks that I have a faster “race time” than hotlapping on my main account.

You counting the Ring in that??? I didn’t think so

All of the times I post on this gamertag are from racing, no hotlapping whatsoever on this account for me. I think its more rewarding to post a time that you’re happy with in a race versus hotlapping. BTW, you’re only #25 in C class now, you’re slipping bud  weren’t you in the teens not that long ago?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Like I said, it was simply a curiosity thing on my part.

I stop caring about the overall before the ring. Now I have hard time hotlapping on tracks I like, nevermind the ring.

People have track preferences, I had a few top 50 times at one point in c class but some tracks I was lucky to break the top 200, probably cos I didn’t like those tracks or the cars that where at the top of the leaderboard for those tracks, then again C class probably has the widest spread of cars you can use to break a top 100 time. I’m not really a hot lapper but most of the races feel like that anyway cos there aren’t that many fast people in the online lobbies

I hear ya. I know I certainly have my preferences. Oh, and about C class… C class is the TCS class IMO, and I dislike it for that reason. I really prefer to drive with no assists at all (don’t even use the brake line anymore). If you want a top time in C class, you’re almost forced to use the 1.6 or 5.7 motors and turn on TCS. It would be nice to have a leaderboard in game that is just hardcore.

I dont think thats a fair statement. TCS is only need for rally power tunes and lemens tunes. I never need it for any other tune. I run TCS all the time now(in rwd) because theres no down side to running it. The problem is you need to run Rwd car above D class which isnt your strength.

Its an accurate statement. If you can drive a car perfectly or close to it without TCS, you’ll be able to find a little more time with TCS on assuming you can keep the TCS light from flashing. That is why you see guys that don’t need TCS in non rally power tunes/non lemans tunes run TCS so that they can get #1 are darn close to it. They’re taking advantage of the system. I’ve experimented with this on a few tracks I know very well and when I was able to do it right (easier said than done) I could get a little more corner off grip (it feels like you have slightly better tires than you do with no TCS) which means I was able to get a little early on the gas. I remember on one track I was able to cut .5 seconds on a PB that took 3 days in a short 5 lap session.

TCS might be a slightly faster non rally/leman tune but its certainly not “needed” to run in top 50. I see the DTM/EMW guys run some #1 times and bunch of top10 without Tcs(rwd). Cars like stradale 33, turbo 5(rally engine) run better without TCS and can run with '74 celica on power tracks.

I’ve probably used TCS a couple of times before but I prefer not to use it, I don’t like how it makes the car feel. As for the 1.6 and 5.7 engines, I’m not a fan that there isn’t much else to go on to get good times, some cars are ok to use apart from them, the Honda’s, Alpha 33, the Mini, Lotus Élan. I could probably learn not to use the breaking line but it would take a little time to get used to, I used to race in a league on Forza 3 without breaking line in S class, think I drove a Koenigsegg which was a bit of a beast to set up right.

No point doing them all, not with out an overall leaderboard. Forzastats isn’t that great either to determine who is better and what not. Overall leaderboard was fantastic because the Classes were ran to the best of their abilities. I’m a die hard Forza hotlapper but this game just got boring and in fact this whole game is a joke. I rather prefer having rev-banging cars than have 1 choice of engine to go fast. In fact I’d rather have AWD cars like Forza 3. I still remember Sebring top 10 having 10 different cars all within half a second. The overall leaderboards gave hotlappers something to do. Now that’s gone and multiplayer is basically Mario Kart now. It’s not competitive at all. I think I have a number 1 still set on the 2nd of January in an inferior car. Oh well, guess I’ll get a WII U and play MK8

Take a look a C class bathurst lap times. Most of the top TCS times are rally cars, which is less than have. Most of the V8 tune are running no TCS.

I’m wondering why there isn’t a penalty for running helps? I believe there should be a separate leaderboard for people who run TCS stability ABS etc. I need to bust my but in a P class car
without TCS,ABS,STB all the while looking at top times with helps on. The “leader board” after F4 is more like leader Bored to me. I hope T10 gets back on track after this launch title. The
gamers vote with money.
