Tokens?

It seems I’ve had 100 tokens for what seems to be since I started playing at Christmas. I’m level 34. How do you earn more tokens?

Tokens are DLC and must be purchased.

Thank you! That really helps.

That doesn’t answer the OP’s question, though. Where did those 100 tokens come from? I know I didn’t buy them. I’ve been wondering myself, and concluded they were just thrown in as an attempt to get us hooked. (Ain’t happening here.)

The initial 100 were automatically added for players when the Tokens went active, but all subsequent tokens must be purchased (unless they decide to add tokens to Forza Rewards).

I missed that one - thanks for the info Max as always.

Thanks. Good to know for sure.

I wish they didn’t make the tokens so expensive for the higher end cars, 19,000+ tokens for the 250 GTO? Good grief that’s a bit outrageous. I am happy tokens are back, but, it needs to follow the Forza 4 formula for them to be ideal.

If you think the idea of spending real currency on game currency can ever be good in a game that isn’t “free to play”, you and I speak entirely different languages. I wouldn’t dream of encouraging this kind of gratuitous MT by spending anything on tokens.

This is a keen angle on the microtransaction part of the video game world right now. Token by itself is only $1US. Ok. If someone is dumb enough to pay over $19k US on a video game for a car…that’s on them. However, that’s also ridiculous.

You misread what I said. 19,000 tokens, not Dollars.

Some of us have disposable income, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But the current formula for how the tokens are handled, is flawed, thus the reason for my comment earlier. It needs tweaked down. Or the amount of tokens the cars cost, adjusted. If you don’t agree with people spending their own earned income on things for a video game, well then you can choose not to  While I would like to, but cost of tokens, to cost of cars with said tokens, just currently doesn’t make much sense in the current state. Now Forza 4’s token system, as I previously covered, was perfect. Even Horizon 1 was ok to a degree.

It keeps both parties happy as there were some who wanted the option so its there. As for the pricing it tempts them to play the game more at least, but meh. Didnt know about the 100 tokens though so cheers

I’ve only ever bought one car with them, and that was the 1964 250 GTO in Horizon 1 - one of the most expensive cars in the game, at 10m credits. I remember tokens were more expensive then, but bought a lot more in-game. 1 token bought any cheap car, and even the 250 GTO was only about 6 or 7 I think. Anyway, however many tokens it actually was, I think they only cost me around £9, and I was happy to do so. But the equivalent car would now cost me about 6 times that, which is horrendous. It was FM5 where the rates changed so dramatically.
