Tire Compound Restriction for Open Class lobbies

Introduction

As of now, Open Class lobbies are full of chaos. The main reason, outside of the driver factor, is that cars in each lobby have huge difference in acceleration and grip.

That results in:

  • extremely different braking points (accidents)
  • competition that’s not even remotely leveled
  • low grip builds drifting in front of everyone unpredictably and making other players get penalties, forcing everyone off track etc (that’s basically griefing, I’m just gonna call it)

Suggestion

I think the most simple and intuitive way to balance these lobbies - is to limit each class to 1 tire compound.
For example:

  • E, D classes - Street tires
  • C, B classes - Sport tires
  • A+ classes - Race tires*
*for A class I’d prefer Race tires because some cars simply don’t allow enough tire width for sports to be effective - otherwise it would be an open question (for me)

Positives, if implemented:

  • Much cleaner, safer racing
  • Leveled competition = development of skill instead of relying on cheap tactics
  • Diversity of car choice remains
  • Flexibility in terms of grip remains: tire width + 2 classes per tire compound (with one allowing for more potential power)
  • Sense of consistency when it comes to events. You can focus your setups on each track instead of each new event configuration (I refer to the tire meta depending on the race length)

As a bonus, I assume it would be much easier for T10 to set up events, without having to balance the performance difference between sport and race for such events.
