I’ve recently been a victim of a lost save file. After going back and forth will support for a week, this is the conclusion we’ve come to.
If anyone else out there has been a victim of this also, please share whatever you can regarding tips.
Obviously I’ve lost all my XP (I was prestige 7), and all of my downloaded tunes and liveries.
I wish there was an easy way of finding all of my previously downloaded tunes somewhere.
I’m sure support will be able to get all my cars back to me, but the real stinger will be my XP. Now everyone will think I’m a newbie.
Are there any quick XP methods that DON’T include 50 laps of the highway? I’m already planning on going through all of the stories again.
Really feel for you! Eliminator I think helps level up quickly or at least quicker than some. Also and I’m sure you’ll know, maxing out car perks will help especially Alpha Giulia Quadrifoglio FE.
Getting and spending skill points always seemed like the fastest since you get XP for both. In freeroam I would use a car with the 7x skill multiplier such as a Hoonigan RS200 or M6 FE. I think the max is 6500 each time you bank.
For racing events the M5 FE also has a perk bonus that can be refilled. I’m not sure which of the FE cars with the built in XP bonus has better perks.
The Eliminator does give good amounts of XP but it’s a longer event. I don’t know if it’s actually better because of that. But just hiding until the final round is pretty easy.
It’s probably best though to find the best XP rewards for what you prefer doing.
Eliminator, or earning skill points (usually in the M6 FE) and spending skill points, I’ve found those two to be the fastest way to level up quicker than regular game progression.
I am sorry that this happened to you. It’s a nightmare scenario especially for someone who has been playing for years. Do you know what the root cause was? I was always worried about this happening from switching between Xbox , PC , and cloud all the time.
This happened to me on Forza Horizon 1 and it made me very sad. I learned that if the sync tool ever asks you which save to keep ALWAYS choose the cloud copy even if it means you will lose a little progress. Otherwise a local corrupt save might overwrite your cloud and then you are hosed.
Whilst I agree with you in principle, I well remember losing 6 months of progress when syncing between PC and Xbox. Now, I only play on Xbox and have on the odd occasion been asked to choose between local and cloud save and I’ve always chosen local.
Get the audi at start and max it out until you can get more credits, then buy fairlawn manor and use the rewards for the super wheelpins and after that go normally
Support haven’t got back to me yet, so I sure hope I’ll be able to get my cars back, since I had every single car except the hot wheels pack.
I can’t say with 100% certainty, but I recall the day before I got annoyed with the game disconnecting me from servers and quitting soon after a disconnect.
I’ve launched and quit the game probably thousands of times, and I usually fast travel anywhere to trigger a save. Except this time.
Always let the autosave icon disappear from the screen before you quit.
They got back to me and were able to give me back everything I’ve lost. Except my XP of course. That’s still the real stinger.
I’ve also lost all of my great tunes I spent the last 6 years cultivating. Does anyone know if I could find that anywhere? Download history or something?
I also forgot that you need to claim each car and emote individually. I’ve only made a small dent in my redemptions so far. I really wish there was a faster way to do this. It’ll take me hours. But I suppose it’s still a million times better than earning them back through gameplay.
Don’t think there’s any way to find out what tunes you had. Glad you got at least something good back at least.
Maybe you could do some ranked, everyone will think you’re a noob and then……
