Which of these 2 Xbox wheel and pedal set ups is best?
The mad Katz looks extremely well built but most threads mention the thrustmaster.
Because the Mad Catz has not been released yet,so no one knows how good it is. I have the TX,on my second as the first burnt up,so far i like it. This thread should be in the hardware thread and i can see the mods moving it there soon.
Think I’ll hang on then until the mad catz gets a review.
Thanks for the reply, and hope your new wheel lasts!
Unlike Trex I am still on my first TX wheel, and it has had a lot of usage since I got my hands on it in mid January. I have used it on both the Xbox one and PC, and have put tons of hours in the following games.
Forza 5 (obviously the only X1 title atm lol)
Rfactor
Iracing
Project cars
Assetto Corsa
Grid 2
Dirt 2
Dirt 3
Dirt showdown
F1 2013
WRC 4
RaceRoom Racing Experience
SimRaceway
Ive always enjoyed racing games, and I have owned wheels in the past; though the TX is my first 900DOR capable wheel. So far I have had no issues with my TX, it calibrates perfectly each and every time, there is no unusual play in the wheel, no issues with the pedals, it feels just like it did when I first took it out of the box.
The problem with the internet is this, you will only usually hear the problems that can occur on a piece of hardware (or software). It can make the issues seem far bigger than they actually are, so it can be good to stay objective over those issues. Not saying there isn’t any problems though, just that they might be as many as the internet can make it seem. Either way most people seem to be having a rather good experience with Thrustmaster customer support, so any issues seem to be getting taken care of fairly quickly.
As for MadCatz, they have a reputation for mediocre accessories; so I wouldn’t advise jumping right on in when their wheel offering is released. I’ve personally owned as few Madcatz products over the years, and they have never lasted that long. I am a stickler for taking good care of my things, they never get bashed about, always kept in a clean environment, are put in a safe place when not in use, etc.
Personally I want to see MadCatz step it up, especially since they bought out Siatek a few years back; which has been known to make some pretty good and hard wearing products over the years.
