Yeah, last night I was in a Corvette and there was another player in an Integra; we basically traded wins most of the night, though he probably one 4 or 5 more than me in the long run. The RSX was very competitive as well. The big advantage is the Integra’s acceleration vs. the Corvette’s. I’d start top 4, fall almost if not fully to the rear and have to work my way up and not make a mistake and would only gain the lead in the last half of the last lap. Made for some pretty intense racing even if only as ghosts.
Even on some of the tracks with longer straights, I was still a close 2nd, even on Spa. We’d be near even at Raidillon, the Integra would pull away, I was ahead by a couple of car lengths at turn 15 only for the Integra to fly past me as we approached the chicane - then the Integra had me with its acceleration.
A couple of interesting races: we did both Watkin’s Glen full versions just a few races in between. Without the chicane, he beat me by a couple of car lengths, with the chicane, I beat him by about the same because I could take it a near full throttle and catch up and pull ahead through the huge turns.
Similarly, at Lime Rock: with the South Chicane, the Integra would pull away once through the chicane and the Corvette would lose too much ground. Without it, the Corvette has the advantage being able to take that turn at high speed (even with the West Chicane).
A bit of an average night for me, had 2 disconnects at Sebring Full (wet) but other than that there was an odd thing going on with the Noble I was driving. It was fine last night but around the same circuits tonight I was getting horrible understeer. Might just be a placebo effect but we did have 24 in a room before the first disconnect.
In any case I think I’ve got 3 valid cars for this League now:
You got some good results out of the Huracán tonight however.
I had some rather good battles tonight, usually at the front. One of them was a bumper-to-bumper duel at Watkins Glen which I’m uploading to YouTube at the moment. I’ll share that here tomorrow, it’s worth watching.
I was in that race, didn’t see much of me as I was leading for a change! Did mess up on the 2nd to last corner though.
Mike, I’ve used that lambo tune, very solid build.
I’ve been loving the Ferrari 360 CS with VPR LeeCampbells tune on it. Lacks a bit in acceleration but it’s got incredible grip, and obviously the Noble M600.
All in all I’ve been having a blast in this league especially with all the regular top drivers, it’s good to see lobby numbers higher this week.
Since the update not had 1 disconnect, although It did take me 30mins to find a room with more than 1 or 2 in it last night.
One more thing is I’d like to again apologise to PJTierney for ruining his race on Road America West (I think). I felt pretty bad after that one, I think it was a 5 way battle for the win. Was a good race till I bumped you off (unintentional of course). I’m sorry bud.
I’ve tried several times to join in this week, but I’ve always ended up in a lobby with just 2 or 3 other cars. I guess that means there’s been about 28-ish people trying to play in Pinnacle at the time, which ends up as one full lobby and one overflow lobby.
