This is what I feared

I was worried about this when I read about the league system.

I work nights and evenings. I sleep in the daytime, get up late afternoon, go to work, and game when I get home. This means most of my gaming goes on in the wee hours of the morning.

Anyway, I really want to jam on the league thing. Racing against skill-and-style-matched opponents appeals to me much more than joining a hopper full of random drivers. So, here’s the thing: Last night all the leagues were “closed” within an hour of my picking up the controller. Tonight, they all shut before my shift even ended.

I’d love to play in a league, but I can’t exactly just find a new job and rearrange my lifestyle to do so. I was worried this may happen when the words “your time zone” appeared in the description of the league system. I said as much in the thread about it. Now it seems like my fears are being confirmed.

Will this change after the game’s official release? Will there be a league for us late-nite gamers?

It seems silly/unfair to have a feature that can only really be accessed by those with the luxury of playing at any given time.

Bring your xbox to work?

There’s a tale somewhere of VPN’ing your home PC onto your work PC, then streaming Xbox onto it. Think my boss would shoot me if I tried it, though . . .

Can I work for you?

I had no idea they shut at certain times, that’s quite poor IMO. Also I don’t really understand the need for seemingly arbitrary restrictions, why no league for every class?

The racing is great though. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been neck and neck with at least one other player on the final straight of the last lap.

Its a global game so I would assume in time the availability of the leagues will be suitable for anyone.

Do bear in mind the game still isn’t technically released yet, we’re in early access, I’m sure more timezone friendly leagues will appear over the coming weeks

I believe there is only one league currently running. There are two more, but they don’t open until the 14th. Each league will say in the description the start and end date, and the time frame in which it runs.

Wait till the full release. Enjoy single until then.
Have fun.

Thats How i Look at it,

Its Still Early Access Time, Until Full Release you wont be able to Guage if its Going to be a Ongoing Issue…Besides I Always Play Campaign Modes for the First 2 Weeks At Least…But i Do Know there are People that Will Only Play Multiplayer!

Lets See How it is On the 15th!

You could even have a look at community ran forums and sites for their own organised championships. If you think Forza leagues is too much (with people reportedly using overpowered Mini Coopers) or too unviable, have a look elsewhere.

Motorheads point is a good one. There are people I know already looking at the cars available and coming up with ideas for there own leagues. Just google “Forza racing leagues” and there will be loads popping up.

You tend to find the racing quality is better and closer as every tends to have very similar cars.

Yeah they put the time in behind the scenes so you don’t have to. The racing is very good no matter what skill level. I started from midway near the bottom but worked up to be a top lobby sort of guy. It’s also a lot cleaner as unwanted drivers are quickly ousted. They also try to balance the cars and run certain themes. One that will be popular this time round will be touring cars now we have a good variety of those.

Have a look at TORA - The Online Racing Association, and TURN - The Ultimate Racing Network

I’m on these two, and there are other sites that drivers on these race on too, so feel free to have a look.

I can also confirm TORA is excellent and TURN is a very new one but made up of drivers from the F4H racing team. They have a sight up as well as TURN.

Organised competitive racing will give you plenty of fun experiences and make you a better driver overall.

I’ve raced on a number of sites, did about 300 races or so which are all documented here (I was Motorhead’s teammate for a few).

I’m a big fan of lobby racing but if you’re after something more focused then I highly recommend looking up some clubs/leagues.

Some pics from Forza Motorsport 4 events that I did:

I used to race with Simracers, they have been around since Forza Motorsport. I started racing with them in Forza Motorsport 2. They are open to all skill levels. http://simracers.myfreeforum.org
