Speed traps:
None particular, but if I had to choose they would be the Deep Vale and the Northbridge, both require a car that has great acceleration and very high downforce. But since I bought the VIP I had access to the Pagani Zonda R FE right at the begining so they didn’t give me too much troubles.
Speed zones:
Hillside (offroad), Ambleside Approach, Nether End (offroad) and Glen Rannoch. All 4 have one thing in common: hairpins. Not only do you need a fast car but you also need to know how to deal with such corners. Late apex is usually the best approach in dealing with hairpins because it raises your exit speed. Ambleside Approach in particular is probably the most difficult because it has 3 consecutive tight hairpins so you not only have to try to raise the exit speed as high as possible but also have to be wary of your driving line so you enter the next hairpin in the best angle possible. I wouldn’t say it’s that hard to get 3 stars on those but to get a high score on leaderboards like within 1% can be challenging indeed.
Danger signs:
The Great Ridge: this one is uphil and has a blind jump spot that you only really see until you get very close to it. This makes it difficult to point your car at the right direction and when you realize you need to make adjustment it’s usually a bit too late already, so you either hit the rocks on both sides or your car isn’t pointing straight at the jump spot when it jumps. The ride uphil is also bumpy making it even more difficult to be precise.
Mudkicker’s Showjump: you have to drive through 3 concrete cylinders to complete this stunt. The problem is these cylinders aren’t really that big so you have to be very precise otherwise you easily hit them. To make matters worse it’s a bumpy ride before you approach the cylinders so it’s very hard to be precise when your car is bouncing up and down. Your best bet is probably to use a small car equipped with rally suspension and tires and a high power engine.
Bamburgh Castle: this I still haven’t got 3 stars. The straight section of the road that leads to the jump spot is very short so my car doesn’t have enough time to accelerate to high enough speed even though it’s already X999 and AWD.
Drift zones:
I’m not that good at drifting so basically none of them has been easy for me. With Formula Drift cars I’ve been able to get 3 stars on most of the road ones but am still stuck at 2 stars on the offroad ones. I don’t like drifting and to be honest I wouldn’t have touched them and the drift club at all if it wasn’t for the cars that were locked behind them.
