Drifting on gravel, track width :S

Tiny track width that gives drift score compared to tarmac. unless you’re dead on center of the road you don’t get any drift score.
Within the flags is not enough. The area giving you points is no wider than the car itself, maybe narrower. whats up with that?
On tarmac you get plenty of space for your race line.

Just have to get your teqnique down and learn the lines…rewind is your friend!..have a look in the tune store and search for drift specific tunes…there are loads out there.

THe drift zones in FH4 are much easier now as the cars ghost out once you hit the fist checkpoint, in FH3 you had to avoid the cars…much harder and more frustrating.

I find it harder now since you actually have to drift

In FH3 I was able to cheese all the way to three stars, by powersliding in AWD beasts only. A hud overlay showing the zone borders in Winter would help a lot.

Spring’s but three days away, then I continue my miserable drift attempts :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed. My main frustration on these is not being able to tell without doubt what is allowed line and what isnt in the snow. I’ve ended up sidelining these zones until later this week when the weather changes as it will end up being easier to see and stay inside the allowed area.

I was doing the dirft challenge next to Alfred’s seat (SE of Edinburgh on the hill) which has a gravel path section. The margins for error there are harsh - hero or zero.

Starting from the Southern end, power sliding round the S bends could get you a few thousand points. But get it spot on and I was over 30k just from the S bend. But the accuracy you have to have with your car, the speed and level of grip are critical. Drift, rewind, drift, rewind, drift, rewind until you find the right combination of speed, turn in, angle and power out.

In my humble opinion, nothing in this game should be balanced around rewind. The Drift challenges are the worst content, especially the story drift, because to reach the points you need to rewind several times. At least if you are no drift pro (which I am not… actually I am faaaaaaaaaaaaaar from it)

i’m not too bad at drifting. it’s just that on gravel, the line is dead center of the road and its very slim. it’s like you get one wheel outside a cars width you stop getting points. perhaps the flags should be closer together then.

Any of you got recommendations for “S-Bends”, “Sycamore Pastures”, “Horseshoe Turn” & “Moorland Way”?

Tried Hoonicorn and Formula Drift Pack, but too twitchy and extreme for me :S

I’ve done nearly every drift zone with the Formula Drift Dodge Viper. There is a tune called something like “Dirt Drift” I downloaded in the top 10 tunes and it works really well on both dirt and tarmac/asphalt. I got my 3 start on all PR achievement last night thanks to the combination of that car/tune and spring arriving!

finally was able to conquer this feat and achieve stunt superhero imo opinion the Sycamore Pastures is the hardest of all the pr stunts… its the only course i had to turn on driver line because of the snow. i was able to get three stars on a mustang deberti u can download my tune running on manual clutch and snow tires

I actually 3 starred Sycamore Pastures on my second try with an S2 Formula Drift Viper and keeping the car in third gear. S-Bends gave me much more trouble.

I actually passed with ease all ROAD drifts, but with those dirt, muddy and gravel its almost impossible to complete! Did any of developers ever completed those drift zones with 3 stars? I doubt, its impossible. Roads are too slim, no way you could drift and get the points allways, 5cm off the road and points are not counted! Who have tested it!? I tried muscle cars, drift cars and there is allways the same resoult, 5cm off the track and half of points are missed. It need to be fixed ASAP.
