In a game thats about realism, open world and trying to simulate real life. There should be more cars that you would commonly see in real life. Forza Motorsport 4 and 3 had so many examples of these types of cars, they had the Nissan Micra, Nissan Leaf, Toyota Aygo, Seat Leon, and so much more…
I believe Forza is too scared to experiment with adding these types of cars because it wont appeal to the younger market, since they just want over the top, powerful supercars which is clearly what theyre getting as of recent festival playlists full of recycled cars.
My experience with Horizon realism was changed a bit when I did my first Danger Sign jump in the game series but I agree on the part where I’d like to see more ordinary cars.
That’s why the Suggestion Hub exists. Find the cars you like, vote for them and if you think that something is missing, start your own wish list.
I think it is a bit of a multifactor thing, mainly the fact that you get immersed in fast cars right away does not exactly help the prolonged play value.
I appreciate NFS Underground and OG Forza approach where you start off with like a $15,000, “chunk-of-poopy-hoopty” that you would NEVER sling around a track. And eventually you work towards building a garage up and then look to acquire houses in different continents to continue racing in open sections of scenic areas.
For this exact reason most of my cars are town cars. The only extremely fast (and expensive) cars were (in most cases) given to me. I would rather drive a Chevy Colorado than a Lamborghini.
If daily drivers were to ever return to the franchise in a bigger capacity, it would probably be the best for the developers to included them in the launch list of a future game rather than incorporate them into Horizon 5 after the fact. In short, I do not think they would make good Festival Playlist content, and we are all kidding ourselves that the developers would ever add a new selection of cars en masse to the Autoshow. They did it for Mitsubishi through free DLC, but didn’t bother for Toyota, and the jury’s still out on how the Italian Stellantis brands are going to return.
Also, the only problem I have with daily drivers being added to the game is where would the developers even start? Daily drivers known to the region that the game is currently taking place in? Daily drivers known to the Western population? Daily drivers known to the Eastern population? Nine out of ten times, people mostly just want the daily driver they currently own, or the daily driver currently belonging to their mother, so that pretty much narrows that down to every car in known existence, and that’s a bit of challenge since both Horizon’s and Motorsport’s car rosters already have many if not lesser-known holes in regards to sports cars and super cars.
At best, if daily drivers ever returned, it would probably be through the same form they arrived in Motorsport 4. A small collection of hatchbacks from around the world, and a small handful of internationally known meme cars.
Personally, if we ever get anything slow and “ordinary”, I would not mind seeing a helping of the more sporty Japanese kei cars. I think that would scratch the itch for most players on both sides of the divide.
The game is mostly free roam, so it would make sense if there were more “cars you see every day”. I can only speak for myself when I say this, but, you don’t see many Lamborghinis or Ferraris driving the neighborhood I live in.
a-yup. Can’t lie… I’ve considered buy a playstation again and a wheel for it just to play GT and only because it has my current car in it.
Yeah, I have upvoted this car in suggestions hub too… and we do have lots of Mazda’s in the game already, we need the 3 back old and new, at least more than as just traffic cars.
