It seems like unless you own a Civic, Mustang, Crown Vic, or Miata, (yes, I know there are a few more than that) you don’t really get the chance to mess around with your more normal average daily driver. Like, unless it’s a popular JDM car, an old car, or a performance model, it’s not gonna get added.
Most of us don’t own supercars, 60s cars, and a majority of us probably don’t even own muscle cars like Mustangs.
A good majority of us drive Malibus, Sonics, Accords, Lesabers, Civic Sedans, CR-Vs, Dakotas, Sebrings, New Beetles, Colorados. Y’know, average cars.
I guarentee you anyone driving just a standard average car who plays Forza has wondered what it would be like to push those cars to the limit. It seems a little niche, but I would happily get an Everyday Car pack.
Modding cars is personally my favorite part of this game, and I have the best time turning cars that are nothing special into over tuned monsters.
the point is reasonable but worth noting those are not common everywhere; UK would be Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsa, Volkswagen Golf, Vauxhall Astra
yeah, there are way too many daily cars with diffrent trim levels/ engines,… Not likely to get a reasonable selection. Also in my personal opinion it’s a good thing to just go for the highest line/ sport version.
I didn’t say they had to add in every little sub-model. I doubt someone driving an Cobalt LT would mind having the Cobalt SS, and on tbe same note, someone driving an Accord LX wouldn’t mind an Accord EX being the model they went with.
No car pack can ever give everyone exactly what they want from a certain category, so a decent little selection of more common dailies would be nice. Maybe even making more regional packs, like a US dailies, or EU dailies packs.
This why daily drivers would never work in Forza (or any other game for that matter). There’s just too many pick from. Heck, the main reason why people got this daft idea was probably because of the earlier Gran Turismos have lots of daily drivers, but even then, most of the dailies were from Polyphony Digital’s native Japan. Even in Motorsport 3 and Motorsport 4, the only (small selection of) dailies were from the European market, while the Nissan Leaf was likely added for being new tech at the time, and the Prius being added for the lols because they were the bane of most car enthusiasts (in the American and European markets) at that time for being driven by very slow drivers usually in real life.
Resending because it didn’t appear to post as a reply. The same can be said about old cars, exotics, offroaders. Adding in more dailies does no harm, even if they can’t add in every single one in existance. No one is expecting them to add every daily on earth, which is why I suggested multiple packs.
Forza Horizon has always veered more towards the high performance end of cars, even more so than Forza Motorsport. It’s a game about a racing(ish) festival after all.
There’s only so many resources to go around, whether its time building the models, money to license them, whatever… I’m pretty happy with the focus on exotic and performance stuff. I see daily drivers… on the road… daily.
To be fair, the game already has almost every performance car under the sun. I personally get joy out of modding the more basic cars into monsters, and I’m hardly alone in that.
No game really gives me a good platform to do that like Forza, but it often lacks in the basic cars department.
i REALY want to see the Mazdaspeed 3 added. it’s already a traffic car, so it shouldn’t be too hard. there are a few other traffic cars that would fit in with this as well.
Sorry, but for every daily you want to add, I’d rather add more old cars, exotics, and off-roaders that have yet to have appeared in series. Just different folks, different strokes. Oh, and I hate doing things for the memes.
It has plenty of performance and exotic cars, yea, but it’s by no means exhaustive or complete.
In fact it’s even lacking ones that it used to have…
Bring back Gumpert Apollo! Devon GTX! Spykers! Hell, I’d like some of the older Zondas… How about Lamborghini Jalpa? Miura Concept? I think the historic lineage of Aston Martins could be filled out too.
Adding all the traffic cars as playable vehicles would be a start. Then we would have the Galant, Legacy, 323ti and Mazda 3 MPS. I think we need more of those though. And be able to race them against supercars so the race restrictions need to be updated too. Introduce restrictions based on engine size, cilinders, max power, n/a or aspirated. We had this in Forza Motorsport and it made races more interesting and fun!
You could say this for just about every genre of car. We have a large showing of Muscle cars, but exhaustive? Not even close. Same with Hot Hatches (I’m looking at you, Shelby GLHS) that are missing. Sedans, Retro GTs, etc. etc. etc…
Right, ao I was saying that in a sense of exaggeration. I’m well aware it doesn’t have every single performance car, but my point was that when it comes to a performance car or old car in this game, you have quite the variety to choose from.
But the people who want to push a more average car to it’s limits don’t have nearly as much variety. Now, I can mostly only speak from an American perspective here, but I live in a town in the US that has always been a little bit behind on development. So I see a good amount of older models, but the 90s and 80s models are not generally considered common, even in a town that isn’t as developed as others.
But even counting those models, it still feels like there’s so little to play with in terms of turning average cars into beasts. Many of people may not see the fun in this, but the Forza community, much like the car community, is a vast one.
All I was saying was, it seems like most other groups have gotten a lot more of what they want than the group that likes to mess around with common cars, and that group is bigger than you would think.
