Yea, I know this has probably been said before, but the lack of GT cars and GT lobbies in Forza 5 and this game has really annoyed me for a long time. Forza 4 was perfect because it had soooo many GT cars which were classed by division (something which needs to be brought back btw), and the Le Mans multi-class lobby was and still is my favorite online lobby in any Forza game.
Seriously, what happened? It seems like the whole sports car racing scene is getting ignored more and more by Turn 10. Series like Weathertech, FIA, Super GT, have gotten no recognition besides a few DP’s, and while the GT endurance lobby is great it still suffers from a PI inbalance, and the Prototype cars do not have a similar lobby.
What we need is a car pack that is literally nothing but GT’s and Prototypes from multiple series from multiple time eras. Hell, make it an expansion pack if you have to, but do something!
I’m going to chime in on this. Turn10 actually does do a fantastic job of covering sportscar racing actually. In fact there are more GT cars in Forza than any other game unless you account for user created mods like in Assetto Corsa. (No I do not count the concept cars in GT Sport) The problem I think you are encountering is that instead of focusing on one discipline/series, there are a handful of cars from every major sports car championship all mixed into one ‘ModernGT’ division.
Last time I counted, Forza 6 has 18 GT cars, which includes the Huracan and excludes duplicates. Forza 4 had close to 30. Forza 4 also had the Le Mans multi class and the Le Mans endurance lobbies which were both specific to GT and Prototype cars. Forza 6 has only the GT endurance and no Prototype lobbies.
Half of the GT cars in Forza 6 aren’t even competitive because of the new (terrible) classification system. It’s always bugged me how Turn 10 classifies cars in such a broad way, and one class alone contains so many cars that it really should be split into to classes. The GT cars are a perfect example. All the ones that are from FIA GT3 should be classed as GT3, while the GT2 cars are classed similarly, and same with the GT1 cars. In Forza 4 this was possible because of the sheer number of GT cars in it, but in Forza 6 there aren’t enough to justify it, so they were all just classed together. The result is that the majority of the GT cars are completely unusable in a competitive online lobby.
I’d just like to see Turn 10 do a bit more for the series. The Prototypes especially need more recognition and their own lobby. I know the P hopper is essentially all Prototypes but the races are those silly 3-lap sprints with crashes on every other turn.
I do love the GT racing but wish that more of the cars were able to be modded to R900.
At the moment theres a few but theres plenty in the class that should be up there but arent. Would open up the game more
