So I have been playing forza since the first game, and I am very much enjoying Forza 6. But the main problem I have with the game is the same problem I had with Forza 5, and 4, and 3. And that is how the car classes are structured. I feel its fine until you get to R and X class when the game starts to mix road cars with the racing cars.
I much preferred the setup in Forza 2 where you had a dedicated class list for the road cars, and a dedicated class list for the racing cars (R4, R3, R2, R1)
At the moment R class just seems like a clustered mess of too many different types of cars and the racing can be hilariously unbalanced between them, and it a similar story in X class which can essentially be summed up as “Are you driving the Lotus F1? No, well you screwed then.”
This inst some deal breaker for me and inst going to stop me playing and enjoying the series but can anyone please explain or justify why the setup we have now is better than what we used to have? (road cars and racing cars kept separate).
Yeah. I miss the GT races from FM4, my favourite ‘class’. I tried setting up a free play race, but then its mostly V8s, few road cars and only a couple of GT cars … Mess.
The game play is generally a massive let down in FM6. Still going on with career but my patience is running out. One can drive ‘hot hatches’ only for so long …
Forza 4 did quite a good job with Prototype balancing in R1/X. I ran some great leaderboard times in a handful of Prototypes. Forza 3 was quite bad but here it’s just awful. Mazda 787B in P and Lotus in X. It would have been better if all the Prototypes could get to the top of P, then they might have an outside shot on some tracks.
It is not only you, most of the hard core players on FM6 are all disappointed that you can not race against the appropriate cars… like an all out GT race, or setup a multiple LeMans race with only Prototype racers and GT Racers. Also,you can not run the 1967 F1 car against only 1967 F1 cars… some how I hope T10 fixes this, but personnaly I do not think it was over looked, just simply they did not care to invest the time required to properly implement these options and their silence is confirmation, it will not change… IMHO.
I have gotten myself to do a daily 50-lap race around the Daytona Tri-Oval and I usually use an Indycar or the Lotus F1 (Both of which I won from a wheelspin). Usually there are 2 other Indycars (3 with the Lotus), all the P class cars, and the Bugatti Veyron, the LaFerrari, the McLaren P1, The Radical, and the Aston Martin GT car (I forgot the name). The Aston only is there while I use the Indycar.
On Daytona, the Bugatti and the P1 do okay, the Ferrari is somewhere in the middle, and the Aston hangs in 23rd and the Radical in 24th. Because the last two are slower compared to everyone else, they both cause cars to line up behind them because they don’t want to pass them. On Daytona, the P1 usually beats all the P class cars except the Peugeots (Including the 90’s one) and sometimes the Mazda 787Bs.
Now if it were Indianapolis, the Veyron is usually in last place because its handling is the worst in the race. One of the R class cars is replaced with the Ultima which does pretty well. It just depends on the track.
Yea I also liked how you can have different sub divisions. i doubt there going to change it but idk maybe. Also for the real petrolheads take the clk-gtr i wish they would add the option to put the authentic spoiler that it had in the 99 lemans. its the small things that matter, its not always about a big expansion ya know?
Me too! Forza 2 had it right when it came to this how the race cars were in R classes and all the street cars were in S or X class. Nothing is as off putting as lining up behind Nikki Lauda’s Ferrari in a Bugatti.
I thought they did away with the sub-classes because they thought the fans preferred the idea of being able to play with a large variation of cars on the track. So a Bugatti with an F1 car etc. This might be true for the casual gamer and the casual gamer probably makes for a higher percentage of the initial sales. The decision may have been made to please them?
Personally, I think they could have set it up so you had sub-classes like the old titles and still provide a mix sub-class race series for the people that want that.
Yeah, I think they’re catering more for casual gamers. That, and they’re cutting a few corners.
Who in their right minds would think a Bugatti Veyron would compete against a Prototype in anything bar a drag race or race to the first corner? It causes nothing but hell online. We all saw that on FM4 with the unlimited lobby, which meant people either brought X class cars or stupid missiles. They should have a U class like there used to be. Then leave R, P (if applicable) and X for cars that actually fit the bill.
The 99 mercedes at le mans was a complete different car. It was no clk it was a clr. An the 98 le mans clk gtr was a different car than the fia clk gtr, who’s based on the strret clk gtr, it has a different engine. In forza 1 I think whe got the racing clk gtr. I don’t know why the replaced the race car with the street version. I think everybody would prefer the clk gtr race car.
Do you have information about that? I’m sure they will change that. Because it’s one of the major features that the community wanted. But whe will see.
You are not the only one. I miss and i really wish the developers bring back the R4 R3 R2 R1 classes. Racing the GT classes in R2 and lemans in R1 was the main reason i used to play Forza.
If anyone can make an offcial request thread? I am sure thousands of you out there will love those class racing and developers will not ignore our request. I am hoping they are nice people
