I have gotten tired of online racing so the last 2 days i have been playing on rivals in C and S class. Pretty happy i got my cortina into the top 10 on one track and 3 others i would be top 10 if i quit making stupid errors near the end of the race lol.

I’m keen. Got heaps of top 30-50 times in S R P and X class with a few times just outside the top 10. Haven’t done to much in the lower classes but I think I have a few times in C class. Gamertag is Oldmate88

You can count me in if you’d like. I would only consider myself to be what you’re looking for in D and C classes though. I’ve got a few top 100’s in B class, but I’m just not as good in that class. I get progressively worse the higher you go through the classes. I’ve got a bunch of top 50’s and a couple of top 25’s in D and C classes. So only count me in for the lower classes…

Not sure you want to limit this to just top 50 times on leaderboards. I know some awesome players that don’t have any top 50 times, but good luck beating them in a race.

I would have thought more people would have been interested

How is being fast around one lap in a leaderboard car going to guarantee good racing? The very idea of racing is that you have to do it with other cars… If people don’t get much experience racing because they’re obsessing about meaningless leaderboards, then you’ll find you probably wont get good, respectful racing

I generally find that no assist/cockpit drivers are inherently clean racers. By only letting leaderboard people in you’re going to find yourself lumped with a bunch of GTA camera, traction control noobs

I agree with you to some extent. However, getting to the top 50 on any leaderboard is not exactly an easy feat. I think you need to be a little better than just a traction control noob to break the top 50 on most tracks. Finding a way to judge is never going to be perfect. I’ll give anyone a run in D class, and can challenge most in C class too. Yet, I don’t, nor will I ever, use cockpit view. I know guys that will blow your doors off with Cortinas and Renault 5 Turbos, but try driving those cars without traction control. Guys like Simmo use ABS, so you’d leave out one of the best players in the game if you went strictly on no assists. Leaderboards do at least prove that you have the ability to be fast. Whether or not you drive like a clown while being fast can not be determined though. I know a guy who is in the top 50 on almost every D class leaderboard and I refuse to race with him. I even blocked him because he’s one of the dirtiest racers I’ve encountered in the game. Its a shame too, because he is darn good.

There just isn’t a perfect way…

As has been proven for many years now, the fastest guys on the boards are usually the best racers out there. The top knotch leagues have proven such. I’ve personally have yet to meet a super quick hotlapper who couldn’t race with the utmost skill.

Cockpit and being clean is irrelevant. Lost count how many times I’ve been run off the course because the guy in cockpit couldn’t see me.

This thread is to find people of comparable skill so the faster guys wont be running over the slower guys. There’s nothing fun about trying to avoid a wreck when the guy in front is off pace, no matter how clean the guy in front tries to drive.

Come on man, I apologized for that, let it go already

I think if your that interested in the game that you post on the forums in this thread is a good indication that you atleast want to try and race clean and enjoy yourself. You will only know for sure until we get a lobby going though

Is top 60 a common rating? I have a feeling somebody has a lot of “top 60” times but not as much Top 50. Better than me, but i dont hotlap.

No, top 60 is not very common. One thing I always do when hotlapping is to take a good look at who is around me on the leaderboard. Once I set a time that I am pretty happy with, I scroll a page or two in each direction (unless I’m on the first page :0…) to get a feel for the names around me. I just like to know who I am competing with. What I’m finding is that there are an awful lot of the same names in the top 50 or so on most leaderboards. You get the occasional new person, but I’d be willing to bet that out of the top 60 in a class, at least 30 of those names will be on most leaderboards. Might even be more than that… So, if the same drivers keep taking the same spots, for the most part, its anything but common to get in the top 60. Maybe this is not the case, with the higher classes, but it sure is with D and C classes. Even B is like that to an extent. A and above, I don’t know much about.

For an example, there are 3,000 spots available in D class for top 60 times. I’d say that well over 1,000 of those times are held by the same 30 to 40 drivers. That really shrinks the availability of those spots.

Even if I’m wrong, I’m sticking with the above because it makes me feel so much better about the top 50 times that I have, and even better yet with the handful of top 25 times I picked up recently
