It is really awesome that we have a spectator mode now. I love watching others race, especially the pros. And I guess its good for E-sport challenges as well. Thanks for implementing it, Turn 10!
Still, I have some ideas for improvement
A lap number
As of now, you can never tell how far the race has come. So it would be great if we had an optional mini-hud showing the lap number (of the car you are following… .or if that is too much to ask, then at least the leader’s lap number)
A Positions table
A real-time table with the positions of each racer… in an optional hud so that you can switch it off. Could be combined with the lap number…
An option to switch between track cams
Wouldn’t it be nice to see the whole pack racing instead of focussing on one car only? So how about steady track cams without zooms and pans to switch through? Yeah, that would require a deactivation of the follower script, but it’s nothing too fancy. The first position of each track cam usually has a nice angle
and they have to fix the spectator mode in general, as I saw a youtube video of it and it was one big mess, cars driving sideways, a lot of lag and jumping cars. It’s one big joke and by far not as good as watching replays through ForzaTV

I love this feature. It’s fun to watch others race after joining MP instead of waiting in the lobby. I just have one suggestion – at some interval automatically cycle which car is shown.
