I understand your upset. But again I dont think they want this either. Otherwise the devs wouldnt have been the original people to create the flagged word list. It gained so many posts and complaints about it until they eventually had to inform us that it isnt their filter and nothing can be done
Either way, its still an irritating thing about the game, which is the topic of the thread.
It doesn’t matter if they wrote it themselves, or bought it from AliBaba, it’s still irritating, and has caused me enough frustration that I felt it needed to be included on the list lol.
Completely understandable and my apologies for stepping on yah man.
Lol it’s all good.
Here’s another one:
The Drivatars.
With every installment, they do their PR routine touting them as the greatest thing since sliced bread, and how they’re the most realistic AI opponents to have ever existed anywhere, ever- and what FH5 has is Mariokart with better car models and a blatant disregard for physics.
They hover, teleport, phase through solid objects, and are immune to vehicle performance restrictions.
Photo of AI teleporting in front of me as if they landed from a jump that doesn’t exist.
Photo of 2nd place AI phasing through the ramp directly under my car
That funny concrete thing is the race surface, and this is the AI hovering next to it.
Another shot of the hovering AI
When the AI teleport to stay on the lead lap, their lap times get “interesting”
Sometimes it seems like a 50/50 chance the “fast travel” option will appear when you want it. When it doesn’t you have to back out of the map and try again.
there are many things, most of which have already been posted on this thread, but here’s some that I find extremely annoying.
when going into a race, if i use a non-recommended car or S2 class when it isn’t recommended, the car will drive worse that what it actually does in freeroam. it’s happened to me multiple times with my Valkyrie AMR Pro (STOCK). in freeroam? glued to the ground. handling monster. in a race when S2 wasn’t recommended? horrible driving. oversteered in every turn.
why does this happen? does it only happen to me?
then, in the vinyl editor, some (most) cars are not centered once again, Valkyrie AMR Pro, and the positions of the vinyls being slightly different on both sides, so for example, if you want a certain shape to align with a body panel, you will probably need to move the shape a bit in the side that you mirrored the shape to.
and finally, when going into photo mode, the car will continue rolling straight for 1-2 seconds before i enter photo mode, making it impossible to take pictures while turning.
Well here’s one (not sure if it was mentioned yet) Drivatars showing up in championships that defy the requirements. Try as I might, I couldn’t tune a Wuling Mini EV to “C” class. Couldn’t even find one in a search. Yet, somehow… here it is in a C Class event.
A lot of good things in here. I agree with all.
For me: Maybe with Mike Brown gone, we’ll get someone at the helm that Loves cars not building open worlds, and things will get reigned in a little when it comes to some of the more goofy things about car handling, balance, and over-all: what is allowed to work in races.
And mostly by that I mean - Power builds with no handling should not be viable in any sense of the word. I am so sick and tired after FH4 and FH5 races where brake/steering dragging cars that leave skid marks and smoke and crash into every barrier (and their team mates) but still somehow manage to always speed away as if none of that ever matters. It’s embarrassing to see in a game with the ability to semi-intelligently tune a car yet have that be completely pushed aside by some trash power build that can barely go in a straight line much less brake, or corner.
..I’m not looking for a SIM here, I’m simply asking that handling builds are equalized with power builds in this game because it’s glaring, it’s annoying, it suspends my immersion more than anything else in this game. Why have tuning at all if it’s nothing but a gimmick? Those who take time to tune their cars - doesn’t really matter.
Speaking of “taking time being rewarded” let us not forget the Creatives in the game.
…like those who take the time to meticulously tune a car take the time to meticulously create liveries, or vinyls only to have the system flooded by people gaming it with might as well be stock colored cars so those taking time never get any recognition.
Speaking of Kudos: I very nearly have almost 30k downloads for Vinyls - and still haven’t hit 25 likes. and I’ve been here doing this since Pre - so apparently the only way for anyone to really hit these marks is if they exclusively use Liveries or Tunes - because the like system is broken for these. At some point in time - downloads have to start equating to “likes” I don’t understand how I can have a vinyl design that averages almost 200 downloads a week for the better part of the last 6 months only get me 2 kudos. Not that Kudos mean anything… but you really pigeon hole your creatives with this stuff. Meanwhile, the top suggested download for a car is a plain color with 250k downloads. =/ …It really encourages me to spend my time making good content for other players.
For me, almost everything else I can live with - how those who put time and effort into utilizing certain aspects of the game that exist are seemingly pushed aside for volume or gimmicks is really the thing I don’t like most about it.
As a content creator, THIS trumps all other “annoyances” in the game imo. Why? Because it’s literally other players, not the game, with a lot more than just single color liveries, exploiting the system with the alt account nonsense to push everyone else out for their own “benefit”, which continues, unabated, every week, by the same individuals.
While I say it’s not the game creating the issue directly, it is the game’s algorithms that allow it to continue. Unlike some of the other issues mentioned above which are outside the scope of control for those responsible for the game, this absolutely is & needs to be addressed once & for all. Eliminating the mechanisms that allow it to be exploited by replacing it with a RNG mechanism or simply abolishing the “Recommended” format would stop the abuse.
For those who choose not to spend any time in the creative aspects of the game, I can understand how it could be a bit of a moot point, but for those who do, it’s no different than those who use cheats to dominate the LBs & push out the legit times. How these people can feel any sense of accomplishment by achieving “success” though cheating outright or gaming the system itself, is beyond me. Integrity apparently is easily dismissed when they can hide behind a GT in basic anonymity.
I feel a bit like a broken record on this particular point, but I simply cannot accept the fact that this behavior so openly undermines the legit players who, as you mentioned, spend a lot of time & effort creating quality content to share with the community without using such methods to monopolize it.
As to the OP, I think there will always be those things in any game that will be annoying to the gameplay, but I have to say that the FH format has continued to improve overall & this iteration remains for me, one of the top games for hours played in my library. The amount of gameplay options makes it nearly impossible not to find something you can enjoy doing & the amount of available cars is just crazy imo.
Can anyone explain to us how the game determines which way your car points after you fast travel, because I still don’t know. All I do know is: it’s always the opposite way I want to go.
It aims towards your destination your aiming for. So a neat trick if you want to fast travel a certain direction upon landing. Place a destination marker and it will put you on the direction of the route
as @Oliver0023 put, if you stick a marker on then the car lands pointing in the direction of the route set by the sat-nav
also, if you click on a roundabout it’ll point you in the wrong direction when you land (what I mean here is that they drive on the wrong side of the road in Mexico and drive the wrong way around roundabouts)
similarly if you click on any dual carriageway (mostly the motorway on the map) then you can see it centres on one side of the road or the other; again, it’ll point your car in the wrong direction (again, because in Mexico they drive on the wrong side of the road)
for single-carriageway roads I’ve not found a reason why the direction is what it is but the map-marker trick is a good one, just put it a few yards down the road in the direction you want to drive
Fast travel is amazingly bad at pointing the car in the direction I want to go unless I set the marker. This is a horrible workaround for the number of times it’s necessary. It’s not a “neat trick”. If they just did the opposite of what’s set now it’d be right 99% of the time.
Setting up to run the seasonal stunts, wrong way. Starting a drift zone, wrong way. In an arcade and travel to just inside the skills circle, always facing away. Fast travel just outside the circle thinking the game might know you want to face toward it, always facing away. Fast travel between expansions where you can’t set a point, wrong way.
- Doing a circuit race and have objects that were clearly smashed on lap 1, appear in the same location on lap to be smashed again.
- Having to drive to the next location in Horizon Tour.
That’s the reason it’s called Tour though?
Perhaps. It’s still annoying.
Having to constantly micro adjust fence props so that they don’t sink into the ground or go up into the air.
Setting a marker for a speed zone so that when I fast travel, I’m pointing the right direction, but when I do the speed zone, the marker doesn’t get get cleared.
Being told I’ve failed a speed zone when I’ve deliberately driven off it.
HA’s that contain player houses (e.g. Mulegé), but you have no idea whether you’re exiting your house into an HA or not.
HA’s that sit across the motorway or other heavily used thoroughfares in the game, which force me to check the map to see whether I might end up in an HA I needn’t be doing.
The icon for the San Juan Scramble is hidden behind a PR stunt icon (yes, I know this can be filtered, but I know about where it is).
is was something that happened in FH2 but in that one it seemed to make sense/work much better even though there’s not a lot of difference
