Very disappointing after such a long wait for the SF90 and we get one of the worst S1 and S2 Ferrari’s.
The IRL SF90 is a speed and acceleration monster with insane handling, FH5’s SF90 is a bloated boat that gets dumped on by every other Ferrari or almost anything else in its class. And its even missing its active aero!
Idk if cars ever get buffed or rebalanced in Forza horizon games but the SF90 is in serious need of it.
Considering most automotive journalists didn’t really like it in real life, I think its safe to say that version in Horizon 5 is probably accurate enough.
Tuning this one with the stock engine was definitely trickier than most but I still managed to get it to X class and confirmed 272mph with decent handling (994 477 647).
I built mine for S1 and i would also rank it as average. I am curious to see if a RWD conversion would help out but honestly, I’m not curious enough to try.
It’s not going to be my absolute safety pick but it’s good enough to randomly whip out for seasonal events, even in a trial.
I did a S1 RWD conversion on Drift tires with the FXX K engine and Race weight reduction. Took out more than 300 kg providing more lateral g than it had stock.
Unfortunately only the first rear tire width upgrade is possible and thus the car struggles on fast weight transfers and accelerating out of low speed turns. On mid to high speed tracks it’s quite decent clocking easy 2:07s on Gran Pantano.
Overall an AWD build on Rallies should be the more useful and convenient tune but the heavy weight reduction makes the RWD one so much more fun.
This thing should turn well, brake fast, and actually feel like something special. It has 1000 HP, AWD, and two electric motors. This thing shouldn’t feel sluggish.
If anyone wants to try my S1 RWD take on it I’ll share it later. Didn’t do it yet because it’s honestly not for everyone and I don’t want to fool players into difficult tunes that can be frustrating.
Because stats-wise it kills every other S1 build.
Definitely worth sharing. I’ve tried a few AWD tunes and they don’t come close to the RWD drift tyres option (Suimin has a shared tune which sounds like it’s a similar build to yours which is what I’m using). The AWD tunes just feel really sluggish.
Shared with the code 602 793 776.
Suimin went with stock tire width and less weight from what I can tell.
If driven without TCS aside from launching 3rd should be the lowest used gear.
Up to 7th for racing, 8th is aligned for the top speed of 390 km/h. 9th and 10th can be ignored. Simply there for PI decrease.
Thanks Rayne. Near identical pace (for me) to Suimin’s but slightly less prone to losing traction. I suspect perfection with Suimin’s build is quicker but definitely more fun to drive with yours as there’s a little bit less fighting with the car needed!
I’ve seen quite a few complaints about the cool cars being bad in FH for a while now.
Unfortunately, the meta in FH5 is a complete mess. And, since PG is adamant regarding not adding ranked, they don’t care. But S2 and now high S1 have been problematic zones for a stock car to land in unless it works well with Offroad tires in S1.
Keep it 4wd > understeer.
Swtich to RWD > It is turning but it is not going so it still corner slower. And slow in straight line as a power car.
Fix it with a wing > Ugly
Understeer in H3-4 mean let off accel longer/accel later. the car still turn.
In H5 it dont turn and get stuck. Lots of power-straight-line-car being slower in straight line. V12 Ferrari S1 FR thing etc
Had the same outcome while testing.
46.6 Suimin, 46.7 with mine on Lookout Circuit.
His is - as always - maxed for PI-efficiency while I still sacrifice some PI to make it as convenient as possible without destroying the build.
He also uses very low tire pressures and camber to counter his soft, high & oversteery suspension setup.
Certainly faster because it turns in harder but I simply don’t like it. I need my cars to be planted even if it induces some understeer.
It’s not just this car, many cars in FH have inaccurate ratings and performances. This is what happens when you choose quantity over quality and when your game isn’t more sim-oriented
