The amount of wheelspin I get in the Ultima 1020 makes it almost impossible to drive! Even with a top tuners tune I still.get an excessive amount of wheelspin. I have to use in career mode, so has anyone found a tune with the least amount of wheelspin?
No tune will ever completely negate wheel spin, especially in this case where there is an insane amount of power going to the rear wheels. You just have to be very careful with the throttle and ease into it when coming out of a corner.
Welcome to the world of Forums where there is always one person who says, “oh your problem, that’s ridiculous I’ve already done that and it was easy.” I’m sure that bit of info helped him a lot and made you feel superior for that 5 minute period. Sheesh
On a helpful note especially since FM7 doesn’t have payout difference for assists don’t be afraid to turn on TCS for car like Ultima that have just insane amounts of wheelspin. There is a reason why TCS exists in real life. I know it seems like sacrilege to some people around here but it is okay sometimes to use TCS.
Nope,i’m not that good, used auto as always and TC,before you jump someones a$$,make sure you know the facts,my point was if I could do it anyone can!!! And I did not say it was easy or his problem was ridiculous, you did!! Take a Xanax, you might not be so grumpy.
Completely agree - at the end of the day, that car has over 1,000bhp and it weighs as much as a basket of soup. I suspect many professional racers would need TCS to keep the thing pointing in a straight line!
If you’re wheel-spinning, you’re not managing the throttle well.
Traction control and stability managment or friction assist can eliminate the wheelspin, but that’s boring. Get used to quarter/half-throttle launches from the line, you don’t have to hammer the trigger the whole time.
For the more skittish cars like the Ultima, I find that managing your gearing helps massively. Sometimes shifting up is enough to give you the traction and stability you need in your launch, once you’re comfortable shift back down and slam that pedal to the floor. Same goes for corners, don’t be afraid to lead into a corner or around a corner in a slightly higher gear, shifting down as you exit.
yeah its got so much power that you cant drive it like other cars i think if you are using auto shift that is the problem try using manual and dont shift below 3rd gear this is how i made it through the career races with no assists the rain tracks were a pain though
It can be driven without traction control although is a lot easier with it on. Personally I’d say try and learn without traction control first and then turn it on that way you won’t be kicking traction control in constantly but it’ll be there should you get a little too eager on the throttle.
I think I did that series with it off though so it can be done but no doubt in my mind I’d be faster with it on.
I recommend using manual shifting and keeping a higher gear in corners while feathering/throttle control. The ultima is an absolute beast of a car so practice and patience is also key, definitely not for the faint of heart.
I have a pretty good tune for it, i’ll share it let me know what you thing. Gamertag Tenny80. It should be up in a few minutes. I do recommend manual gear box, staying in 3rd gear or higher and being light on the throttle.
Tune is shared now, let me know what you think… hate to give away my secrets but I found that a heavier rim really helped settle the car down a bit… it also gave me a couple points to play with so that I could upgrade the transmission among other things. Now… you likely wont brake any lap times with this tune but it will be easier to drive!
Oh mate you made my day with this. 100% agree with you. I’ve been driving and racing actual cars and the ultima was one of them, TCS and ABS are allowed and ON! With everyone.
